Dozens of fire units are working a blaze near Kuykendahl and the railroad tracks after a small fire ignited containers of fireworks. This is an active scene. @Springfdtx is on scene working a multi-structure fire in the 23300 block of Kuykendahl. The fire originated in a RV, but spread to 3 conex boxes of fireworks near by. The fire traveled onto a railroad property and in a wooded area.

Mother Nature is stacking up some weather concerns for our area. A strong cold front will move through late this afternoon and evening with a narrow band of showers and thunderstorms. A few storms may be severe and capable of hail or a brief tornado, but flooding is not expected. Wind gusts of 40-45 MPH are expected tonight and 30+ MPH wind gusts could linger well into Monday. Driving may be treacherous in high winds, especially for high profile vehicles. A Red Flag Warning will be in place on Monday due to elevated to critical fire weather conditions. Please join us in mourning the loss of one of our life members, the father of our most recent past fire chief Eric Anderson. Jeffrey S. Anderson served from 1992 to 2015. His nearly quarter century of service, his passion was making our department better and he was proud to serve as a longtime volunteer firefighter. Visitation for Jeffrey S. Anderson will be at the Addison Funeral Home, 18630 Kuykendahl in Spring on Thursday, March 12 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. His services will be on Friday, March 13 at 2 p.m. at Christ the Good Shepard, 18511 Klein Church Road. The interment will follow on Monday, March 16 at 1:30 p.m. at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive. Rest easy, brother.
