Spurs getting relegated was a funny gimmick but unfortunately it was never going to happen

Absolute disgrace. How is this not a penalty? VAR said ‘natural grappling’ #WHUEVE

@SimonLester2468 You think I post for followers? I post for myself and the psychosis that Spurs put me in.

You’ve got to love the Spurs fans on this app. From wanting their own team to lose games a couple of years ago they’re now accusing other teams of deliberately losing as there’s a ‘conspiracy network’ in existence to get them relegated! You could make it up! 🤷 Delusional doesn’t even get close.

Christian Pulisic moving to MLS this summer would be the biggest and most important signing in MLS history, and yes bigger than Messi.

So if Tottenham beat Wolves tonight, they’re safe from relegation?

@cyberistia Although I think there is some truth to what you’re saying above. I also think it is cope and the reality is we want to compete at the top.

It’s funny how many Spurs fans are tying themselves in knots over what relegation might mean financially. I honestly couldn’t care less. It’s not my money, and it never has been. If Spurs go down, they’re still my club. My first game was back when we were in the old Second Division, so this idea that everything begins and ends with the Premier League just doesn’t land with me. I’ve always watched football, always played it, and always loved it for what it was supposed to be. The beautiful game. That’s what drew me in. That’s what kept me there. What it’s become now feels a long way from that. It’s turned into a rich man’s plaything, fuelled by asinine media noise and endlessly badged as “the best league in the world” when it quite clearly isn’t. In fact, part of me thinks stepping away from the Premier League circus wouldn’t be the worst thing. The football at that level has become strangely sterile. Everything is over coached, over structured, and risk averse. Players are drilled into systems so tightly that individuality gets squeezed out. The mavericks either disappear or get reshaped into something far more predictable. You end up watching patterns rather than moments. And then there’s VAR, still clinging on to the illusion that you can turn subjective decisions into objective ones if you just draw enough lines and slow things down enough. It’s taken something instinctive and immediate and turned it into a courtroom exercise. I won’t miss that for a second. Maybe a reset wouldn’t be the disaster it’s made out to be. It might even remind people what supporting a club actually means. #COYS

Every time this happens - VAR having reached a clearly incorrect decision - is a reminder that football has been vandalised in pursuit of the chimera of total accuracy. Full abolition now!

Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey should have been sent off against Tottenham, the Premier League's KMI Panel has said. Brobbey pushed Cristian Romero into keeper Antonin Kinsky but escaped a second yellow. Romero suffered a season-ending knee injury. 👇 bbc.co.uk/sport/football…

@GorgeousJords Agree. We still shouldn’t be in a position where a few screwed games relegates us.

@Spurs_Chud There’s plenty of blame to pass around, there’s no doubt about that. But there’s also a plethora of games where we’ve been royally screwed by incidents completely out of our control.

I understand the “if Spurs go down it’s because they’ve not been good enough” piece, it takes accountability and stops the blame game. But if they go down by a single result, it’s absolutely on one of the many bulllshit decisions this season, no one is changing my mind on that.
Jason@JasonTSco

Anyone with a working pair of eyes could see this If Spurs go down its because they've not been good enough, but the standard of refereeing we have had to endure this year has been the lowest of the low. Awful officiating nearly every week

@indykaila @SpursOfficial If this is true then be sure more controversial decisions in favour of Spurs. Refering nowadays is about achieve a set goal and not providing a level ground

Just had lunch with someone who has close ties with the TV companies and Premier League ⬇️ “We need @SpursOfficial to survive as they bring in more commercial deals and make the PL brand stronger. I hope West Ham or Forest go down instead of them. We need this to happen.”

Rob Jones has been responsible for FIVE out 12 errors this season regarding second yellow cards not being shown, all of which should have resulted in reds. The other #Tottenham case listed to involve Jones was failing to send off Rodri vs Spurs in February 2026.
