Terrible, terrible day. Maybe my worst yet.

Here’s a solid list of beginner tips for Crimson Desert. The game features a massive open world in Pywel, action-oriented combat with stamina management, a crime/bounty system, Greymane camp mechanics, boss fights, and skill progression. These tips will help you get off to a strong start without spoiling story elements. 1. **Master stamina management early** — Stamina governs dodging, sprinting, heavy attacks, traversal, and more. Running out in combat or while exploring is deadly. Prioritize stamina upgrades first when spending skill points or artifacts. 2. **Use targeted aiming (lock-on / precision mode)** — It helps with precise interactions (objects, NPCs, climbing/jumping), combat targeting, and platforming. Get comfortable toggling it. 3. **Unlock key early skills ASAP** — Focus on Grappling (crowd control & throws), Keen Senses (better parry/counter windows), Flight/gliding (massive map traversal), Dropkick, Armed Combat basics, and elemental imbues (like Flame or others). Stamina-related passives come before flashy damage. 4. **Parry > block** — Perfect parries cost no stamina and open big counter windows. Practice the timing—it's more rewarding than spamming block or dodge. 5. **Don’t commit crimes early** — Avoid stealing, attacking NPCs, or other crimes until you’re stronger and understand the bounty system. Bounties attract hunters and make life hard for new players. If you want to try crime, unlock and wear the Mask first (via Jeffrey’s bounty or similar early unlock). 6. **Ring bells to reveal the map** — There are scattered bells (around 8 in the starting Pywel region) that unfog large portions of the map when rung. Explore for them early. 7. **Food is your healing** — No traditional potions in combat—eat food to recover health. Stock up, cook when possible, and keep meals handy. 8. **Repair and reinforce gear regularly** — Sharpen weapons and repair armor at blacksmiths to max the “Reinforcement” stat. Don’t neglect this; degraded gear performs much worse. 9. **Expand inventory early and often** — Inventory slots are easy/free to increase (via camp upgrades, quests, or Greymane camp). Do it ASAP—loot piles up fast. 10. **Don’t grind random mobs for XP** — Focus on story quests, elite enemies, bosses, and region exploration for better progression. Random grinding is inefficient compared to structured content. 11. **Upgrade your Greymane camp** — Your base/hub (Greymane camp) offers upgrades, meals (buffs/healing), inventory expansion, and more. Invest time/resources here—it pays off hugely. 12. **Keep boss weapons & signature abilities** — Boss drops (weapons, abilities) are often unique and powerful. Don’t sell them, and equip signature boss moves when you get them. 13. **Explore off the main path** — Hidden artifacts (Abyss Artifacts), strongholds, elites, and upgrades are everywhere. Fully clear regions before rushing the story—skipping leaves you underpowered later. 14. **Watch boss stagger meters** — Many bosses (including bigger types) have visible stagger/break bars. Build them up for big damage windows. 15. **Use your Greymanes & companions** — Don’t forget about your mercenary crew—they provide support, buffs, or help in fights/camping. Manage them well. My mom took delivery of her second Tesla today, a Model Y Performance! Three years ago, it took a lot to convince her to give Tesla a chance. Her 2023 Model X was her first EV. When it came time for a new car this year, she said she will own nothing but Tesla the rest of her life. She relies heavily on FSD and couldn’t have a car without it.
