Sat through many presentations by enterprise wireless vendors. After HPE's purchase of Aruba they started pitching solutions like these immediately. That was in 2015.

@SwiftOnSecurity It's very dangerous data to retain because they have no control over what is in DM's and it could contain very personal info like real names and addresses and phone numbers etc which leads to EXTREMELY harsh GDPR penalties if leaked. Reddit accounts usually don't have this data.

But honestly more platforms should be clearing out DM histories from their databases. Why do you want private data you're liable for that nobody is paying you to protect?
