Meet Chonkers, the name given to a giant Steller sea lion spotted this week lounging among his considerably smaller California sea lion neighbors. Chonkers belongs to the Steller species, the largest of all sea lions, known for their commanding presence and dock-dominating energy. Adult males can weigh over a ton.

If someone like me who’s very tough on all crime, is both a steadfast ally of police and believes they’re heroes who deserve a pay rise and who jumped for joy when their daughter’s first boyfriend later became a police officer in the Met winced at the footage, I think it merits a discussion.
