Starmer's Ukrainian Rent Boys Found Guilty Of Arson. In a dramatic verdict at the Old Bailey today, two men have been convicted over a chilling series of arson attacks on properties and a car linked to Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Roman Lavrynovych, 22, a Ukrainian national, and Stanislav Carpiuc, 27, a Ukrainian-born Romanian, were found guilty of conspiracy to damage property by fire. Lavrynovych was also convicted on multiple counts of arson, with the jury finding he acted recklessly as to whether lives were endangered. The third defendant, Petro Pochynok, 35, another Ukrainian, was acquitted of the conspiracy charge. The attacks, carried out in May 2025 in north London, have raised serious questions about security around the Prime Minister and the foreign forces that allegedly orchestrated them from afar. Jurors heard disturbing evidence of how the Prime Minister's sister-in-law, Judith Alexander, was woken in the early hours of 12 May 2025 by the smell of smoke at the Kentish Town home owned by Starmer. She frantically tried to call Lady Victoria Starmer while shielding her daughter from the blaze, which had taken hold at the front door and spread into the hallway. Alexander later told how she feared what might have happened had she not woken up. Just days earlier, on 11 May, another property in Islington where Starmer had once lived was targeted. And on 8 May, a Toyota RAV4 previously owned by the PM was torched in the street near his family home in Kentish Town. Prosecutors detailed how the men were allegedly recruited, instructed and paid via a Russian-language Telegram account run by a mystery handler known as El Money. Hundreds of messages showed promises of cash, including help with medical bills for Lavrynovych's father in exchange for setting the fires. One offer was reportedly £2,000-£3,000. Lavrynovych admitted starting the blazes but claimed he was under threat or doing it purely for the money. The others denied knowledge that the targets were linked to the Prime Minister. Carpiuc was accused of helping recruit and plan, while Pochynok was said to have filmed one of the attacks. In one extraordinary moment, Carpiuc told the court he had refused to film despite being begged to do so and even warned his friend the car fire plan was stupid. Counter-terrorism police led the investigation due to the high-profile target and the foreign handler's involvement. Russia has denied any state link. The convictions come amid growing unease about political violence, foreign interference and the risks posed by unchecked migration. All three men lived in London, raising fresh concerns about integration, vetting and the Government's ability to protect its own leaders and their families. Starmer himself described the original attacks as an attack on our democracy. Yet critics will ask why more wasn't done to safeguard his circle, and whether the soft-touch approach to immigration and asylum has left Britain vulnerable to those who might wish it harm.
