You do know that the government developed and currently maintains Harmony Beach Park at no upfront cost to citizens? There are many beaches that can be developed and maintained. With that being said I am advocating for the development of Priory Beach, Saint Ann.

@TallChev Emancipation Park is in the middle of New Kingston. Geography sets the standard

The vast majority of Americans mean the country good you know. It’s just a handful of people on the far part of either side causing so much division. Far left and far right. Most people have good intentions and want to see the country do well.

In Jamaica, once you’ve worked at least 110 days, you begin earning vacation leave, typically one day for every 22 days worked, or up to two weeks per year. If you resign before using it all, you’ll be paid for the balance.

The next update we want, is one that says you all going to start drilling, refining and selling oil. What is a piston core? We don’t know.

@Negrilgrown Tbh I’d only keep him on squarely because of him and Norman’s push for independence and the movement behind it I for one think we should expand our heroes to include cultural, historical and relevant Jamaicans

Again, why is Tacky not a national hero?
Wayne Chen@wcchen

Tacky's War: 266 years ago today, on 7 Apr 1760, a Fanti paramount chief, Tacky (Akan: Takyi) and Dahomean war chief Apongo led hundreds of enslaved Africans in the capture of plantations and a British military base in St. Mary and western #Jamaica. "In terms of its shock to the imperial system, only the American Revolution surpassed Tacky's War in the eighteenth century.”The treatment of Africans in Jamaica was considered by contemporaries to be amongst the most brutal in the world. #Caribbean en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tacky%27s…

Many people wondered why go through so much to rescue the pilot? He is a Colonel and a weapon systems specialist. You would not want your weapons system specialist with possible classified information falling in the enemy hands. That’s common sense.

Dangote Refinery has started exporting fuel across Africa after reaching full production capacity. Countries like Tanzania, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Togo, and Ghana are already receiving supply. Next in line are South Africa and Kenya. Africa is now supplying itself instead of depending fully on imports.

The Air Jamaica sale in 2011 was a difficult decision that successive administrations had shied away from making, but it signalled #Jamaica’s commitment, at long last the political will, to kickstart a new era of fiscal discipline. Air Jamaica recorded net losses in 40 of its 42 years of operation, racking up an accumulated deficit of US$1.54 billion before the sale. It was losing over US$90M per year, a haemorrhage that was bleeding Jamaica’s treasury dry. Bruce Golding’s administration took the politically toxic decision to divest it. #Jamaicans mourned the loss of a treasured national symbol. But that decision was part of something larger. A fiscal responsibility framework introduced in 2010 required the Minister of Finance to target eliminating the budget deficit and reducing the debt-to-GDP ratio. Offloading a money-losing state enterprise like Air Jamaica was the kind of structural reform that made the framework credible. Government could not preach fiscal discipline while subsidising a loss-making airline year after year. The results were remarkable. Jamaica cut its debt from 144% of GDP in 2012 to 68% in 2025. The Air Jamaica sale alone didn’t achieve that. But it signalled something essential: Jamaica was finally serious. #Caribbean #AirJamaica #CaribbeanAirlines

Caribbean Airlines has lost TT$1.7B (US$235M) on Air Jamaica since its acquisition in 2011. Many #Jamaicans were unhappy when Bruce Golding’s Administration sold it to save Jamaica’s taxpayers, after decades and billions of losses. Many Trinis were unhappy then that their government paid too much, even unhappier now. #Jamaica #Caribbean

Founders Who Solve Boring, Expensive Problems Not the flashy stuff. The world runs on boring infrastructure. Those who fix costly inefficiencies quietly make fortunes.
