One day, we will be out there, among the stars
NASA@NASA
Sky full of stars. Following a successful lunar flyby, the Artemis II astronauts captured this breathtaking photo of our galaxy, the Milky Way, on April 7, 2026.

We’re constantly reminded how small and insignificant we are and yet we can’t stop destroying one another

@realgoodrealhot Survival doesn’t make it any less intense. The fact that humans can even go there and come back safely is exactly what makes it so impressive to me.

@TemzyD It's not scary. Everyone we send into deep space survives every time. Relax
English

@clarkkarmstrong The difference is it’s not a screenplay, it’s real. That’s what makes it even crazier.
English

@TemzyD Yeah it's like a Hollywood screenplay right?
English

@MiniMeVision Yeah, they chose it, but that’s exactly what makes it impressive to me. Knowing the risk and still going anyway takes a different level of courage.
That’s what I was appreciating.

You won't be dragged. You only need to be educated.
If we never explored the space we'd have:
- No satellites, no GPS (maps, Bolt/Uber, delivery tracking affected)
- poor weather forecasting, storms come with little warning
- Limited global communication, weaker TV, internet, and live broadcasts
- Harder to track hurricanes, floods, and wildfires
- Weak climate monitoring
- No reliable asteroid detection systems
- No chance of colonizing other planets
- No “backup plan” if Earth faces a global disaster
- Humanity stays permanently Earth-bound
Among others.
