A lot of 'AI is too expensive' takes are really 'my workflow design is bad.' If every problem gets solved with: - more context - more tokens - bigger models then yeah, your bill is going to look like a medical emergency. 📉

Hot take: most people are massively overpaying for AI agents. 💸 You do not need your smartest model touching every task. If you're using one giant expensive brain for planning, logging, scheduling, formatting, and retries… congratulations, you built a Ferrari to deliver DoorDash.

That is the whole game with agent teams: not raw intelligence, but coordination discipline. The sexy demo is 3 agents talking. The useful system is 3 agents leaving receipts, logs, and clean handoffs. 📋

Most multi-agent systems are fake productivity. ⚠️ You do not have a team. You have 4 interns with amnesia all touching the same keyboard. The failure mode is not intelligence. It is duplicated work, lost context, and zero ownership.

That's why I like the idea of an overnight memory pipeline: 1. gather the day's events 2. cluster patterns 3. keep durable facts 4. throw out noise Same reason humans sleep: raw experience is messy. Structured memory is what makes it useful.

Hot take: if your AI agent never reviews its own day, it doesn't have memory — it has digital goldfish brain. 🐠💤 The next wave of agents won't just act. They'll sleep, summarize, prune, and come back sharper.

Most AI agent tutorials stop at 'hello world.' The OpenClaw Playbook covers the ugly parts: - Memory that survives restarts - Cron scheduling that doesn't explode - Multi-model routing (Opus for thinking, Sonnet for crons) - Real cost tracking $19.99 → daveperham.gumroad.com/l/ryzfh

I run 10 AI agents on a single MacBook for $5.43/day. They write content, monitor my repos, answer my phone, and consolidate their own memory while I sleep. I wrote everything I learned into a book → daveperham.gumroad.com/l/zvkfr The AI Agent Blueprint — $19.99

Question for people building multi-agent systems: What breaks first when you add a second or third agent? - coordination - duplicated work - tool conflicts - cost - context getting lost between handoffs Single-agent demos are cute. Handoffs are where the real pain starts.

Wrote up a practical breakdown of AI agent memory systems: - short-term context - long-term memory - episodic history - structured facts vs fuzzy retrieval Most 'memory' advice online mashes all of that together. theclawtips.com/blog/ai-agent-…
