#TDF2024 - Stage 2 recap

@writebikerepeat I wondered about this! I guess the race must have just had too many groups, but was quite a surprise when the Evenepoel Express rocked up!

All the more frustrating given we do have split screen capabilities now as these funky little mini screens show - I guess just not enough camera motos to capture everything when it's all spread out?

So do we have literally zero footage of Remco and Carapaz making it back to the front of the race, because I quite keenly want to see how that whole scenario played out 🤔 #TDF2024

@matildaprice_ Very true - still disappointing that none of ITV's eight people involved are women!

@Tomas_Fish I think they are a bit busy being pro cyclists in Olympic years, it's not their job to be pundits eh

I try not to worry about it too too much but tiny number of women involved in Tour de France coverage is really quite absurd

@reallyspoketome I always check the stages to see what days I'm inconveniently very busy - how can I keep in touch with the race?!

When #TDF2024 is on days/dates are irrelevant. I only refer to stages. Eg. I have a dentist appointment ton Stage 10. #CouchPeloton

@BenjiNaesen Depends who's in the break though, right? If someone further up than their rider finishes with the DSM rider and they stay awaythe other team would take yellow?

In my opinion, it’s a tactical misconception that DSM controlling from the peloton is the best way for them to keep the Maillot Jaune. The best way for DSM to keep the jersey is to be in the breakaway. If the break wins, your rider can take the Maillot Jaune from Bardet. If the break loses, the opponents spent more energy chasing making the finale a little less explosive for Bardet. Because on paper, Bardet loses the Maillot Jaune today from the peloton. #TDF2023
