Not to pick on you, but this is actually a perfect example of why Tank Controls existed for these games (what you're playing with are the "modern controls" in the Remaster which change direction in if you touch the control stick in relation to the camera, not tank controls).

(1/2) Shinji Mikami is a super talented game dev who I think has a great eye for talent.
His comments about streaming/watching videos of games I don't think are fully accurate, but I'm not surprised at all he said them. Famously he doesn't really care about the stories in games,
