Some states are forming committees to explore blockchain. Utah is passing bills, testifying before committees, and partnering with industry. Different stage.

Yesterday we hosted a Women in Blockchain & Digital Assets Brunch in DC before the Blockchain Summit. Female founders, builders, and innovators in one room. Real conversation. Real connection. The blockchain ecosystem gets stronger when more voices are at the table.

Utah and Wyoming are both building blockchain-friendly policy. Wyoming got the early headlines. Utah is writing legislation that doesn't exist anywhere else in the country. Room for both.

Utah's 2026 legislative session: 4 blockchain bills. Committee testimony. Partnerships with Kraken and Coinbase. Collaboration with the state treasurer's office. Utah is moving.

50 states. One state-endorsed digital identity framework. Utah built it. SB275 is first of its kind in the nation.

Right now you verify your identity by texting a photo of your driver's license to a stranger. Blockchain-based digital identity lets you prove who you are without handing over your data. That future is closer than you think.

The diamond industry uses blockchain to verify sourcing all the way back to the mine. "Ethically sourced" is becoming a verifiable claim, not a marketing line.

Healthcare still runs on fax machines in 2026. Blockchain-based medical records let patients control their own data and share it with any provider instantly. The upgrade is coming.

Scam alert: Thought this one was clever. A company reached out on LinkedIn, looked a little sus, but had elements of legitimacy. Agreed to set up a call. Link came through as Google Meets. I joined without issue. The person came online (a white guy), but I couldn't hear him. After a minute or so, the camera goes off and I can now hear him talk. He has a very heavy Asian accent. Obviously I'm extra suspicious now. So I play along and of course I'm sent a document to read. The file extension is .pdf.exe. This could really catch someone who isn't aware of this tactic, so I thought I'd share!

UTAH Update: No Reserve ❌ I'm still confirming the details, but what I can gather is this: Utah's Bitcoin Reserve Bill HB230 was revised (3) times in the Senate. As late as the second revision, there remained provisions for Bitcoin investment...

We made progress for the blockchain space in #Utah, but no #SBR as that portion was stripped from the final text.
