Chennai's Marina Rope Car Could Be Launched by Year-End: Mayor R. Priya Chennai's proposed 5-km Marina Ropeway from Labour Statue to Lighthouse is moving ahead, with Mayor R. Priya targeting a launch before the end of 2026. The DPR has been completed and is under technical and financial review. Estimated to cost over ₹100 crore under a PPP model, GCC is also exploring an alternative alignment along the service road. CRZ clearance and stakeholder consultations will be required before construction begins.

@TheVenks @UpdatesChennai City planning should not be done by CMDA , they don’t have any effective capability to plan as an international city . We need to bring in international consultants for this if at all we want to see a change like western countries.

I remember asking @cmda sometime in 2024 if am not wrong in a SM post and they said the Outer ring road policy would be out soon
Now we are in mid 2026 and it is still not out .
Every city would love to unlock such development corridors especially when your city is deprived of space on one side and govt agencies can auction plots , do JVs for long term recurring revenue in developing micro satellite nodes but we are napping well 🤦🏽♂️
If it is delayed much further there will no opportunity to create proper grid roads or auctioned mega developments because by that time Chennai miga arugil plot mafia would have made a butcher of the land available 😏

Nobody is using Telegram in India for messaging. Telegram is mostly used by scammers in India. Most financial fraud (Billions of dollars) in India happens through Telegram
The Indian government should have banned Telegram years ago. It is long overdue.
I’ve been noticing the same pattern for years. Almost every fraudster immediately moves to Telegram. it’s harder to trace, easier to operate.
Calling this an internet freedom issue misses the point completely.
Telegram became one of the preferred platforms for financial fraud, scam networks, betting groups, piracy, and other illegal activities in India.

India’s IT ministry banned Telegram for one week because some users shared leaked exam questions. This punishes 150M+ ordinary Telegram users in India — not the insiders who leaked the exam materials. And the ban hasn't stopped anything. The leaks just moved to other apps.

Indian telecom Reliance is sabotaging access to Telegram for millions of users OUTSIDE India (including the UAE) via a rogue method called BGP hijacking. The sabotage seems intentional, as Reliance has ignored multiple reports. This may be part of a competitive war, as Reliance is partially owned by Meta — the company behind WhatsApp. Network operators are advised to reject unauthorized BGP announcements from Reliance (AS18101) to prevent route hijacks and ensure stable Internet access for their users. Such abuse of global Internet routing is alarming. I wouldn’t be surprised if Reliance/WhatsApp were also behind the recent lobbying effort to ban Telegram in India.

#THANJAVUR AIRPORT UPDATE : #Trichy Airport Director S.S. Raju said that administrative approval is being sought for a domestic airport at #Thanjavur, estimated to cost ₹100 crore. Around 55 acres have been allocated, and the project is awaiting clearance from #AAI. The airport is planned with a 3,400-metre runway, and building designs have already been prepared and construction will start after the approval soon.
