A friend of mine was a bit drunk last night and refused to leave a restaurant when he was asked to. The manager called the police, who immediately rushed to the scene and threatened to arrest him so he left. On his way home, he got chatting to a stranger. The stranger was happy to chat to him. But then the same police officers showed up and threatened to arrest him again! For chatting to someone in the street! They’d told him to go home and he was on his way. Do police have the right to do this?
