With the increasingly relevant discussion about the relation between MiCA and DeFi, I decided to share my recently published thesis on Decentralized Finance from the Perspective of Czech Financial Regulation and MiCA Proposal published.👇

this might seem like a reasonable take, but it's actually unreasonable and wildly risky. as the Google paper explicitly says (see below), and others note, you will not get warning. the warning is what you are getting now. this is your warning. once logical cubits start to meaningfully scale, you will go from cracking 5 bits to 256 bits very quickly. if you're wagering the future of a trillion dollar asset on QC development following a slow, predictable, linear path, with public milestones, you are taking an enormous risk. Google paper: "progress in quantum computing is better understood using a threshold model rather than in terms of the number of physical qubits" "there may be little time between the breaking of 32-bit ECDLP and the breaking of 256-bit ECDLP. Furthermore, the community should not expect to see published demonstrations of the most advanced quantum error-correction architectures and quantum algorithms deployed to cryptanalytic problems" the field is already self-censoring to avoid giving tools to black hats (again, see the Google paper). progress will happen in secret. additionally, as we all know, it will take a minimum of several years to fully transition. a signature scheme must be chosen, tested, deployed, soft forked, and adopted (this has to happen for every single address, which alone will take months). thus, you have to start acting several years before Q-day. unfortunately, the premise that the development of a CRQC will happen slowly, publicly, and predictably that almost all Bitcoin devs seem to be relying on, is false. Bitcoin devs will have to do something uncomfortable: act under conditions of uncertainty and make difficult and costly tradeoffs _before_ the threat seems clearly apparent. we will not have the luxury to waiting until a N bit key is broken. at that point, we will have weeks or months, not the years required. this means that the testing and deployment of a PQ signature scheme on Bitcoin has to occur in 2026.

Pondělní fintwit zaplavil zajímavý text od Citrini Research o tom, jak expanze AI může vyústit ve skokový nárůst nezaměstnanosti (zejména u white-collar profesí) a postupně se přelít do citelného ekonomického zpomalení. V zásadě jde o argument, že pozitivní nabídkový šok (růst produktivity a pokles nákladů práce) tentokrát nemusí vyvolat pozitivní poptávkový šok, ale naopak negativní. Vytvořená přidaná hodnota se nemusí ve stejné míře vracet do ekonomiky prostřednictvím mezd a spotřeby. Klíčovým mechanismem je koncentrace dopadu do vyšších příjmových skupin. Propouštění white-collar pracovníků a pokles jejich příjmů nebolí jen trh práce, ale i spotřebu. Právě horní příjmové skupiny totiž táhnou významnou část poptávky. V první fázi může AI působit protržně – marže rostou, zisky pozitivně překvapují, akcie posilují a firmy přelévají rekordní profity zpět do AI infrastruktury. Trh tak může určitou dobu růst i v prostředí postupně slábnoucí domácí poptávky. To však může celý problém dále prohlubovat, protože slabší spotřebitelská poptávka se postupně projeví v reálné ekonomice. Citrini uvádí konkrétní příklady firem a sektorů, které jsou na tento typ změny nejcitlivější – od softwaru přes platební systémy a cestování až po realitní trh. Popisuje postupné zesilování celého procesu: AI zlevňuje práci → firmy propouštějí → spotřeba slábne → firmy chrání marže další substitucí práce AI → a cyklus se opakuje. Jde o negativní zpětnou vazbu, která se může z reálné ekonomiky přelít i do finančního systému. Za slabší místo považuji předpoklad opožděné reakce hospodářské politiky, zejména v prostředí výrazně rostoucí nezaměstnanosti. Historická zkušenost spíše naznačuje, že v takové situaci bývá reakce fiskální i měnové politiky poměrně rychlá a razantní. Otázkou však zůstává, zda tradiční nástroje dokážou řešit strukturální problém nahrazování práce technologií, nikoli jen cyklický výkyv poptávky. Celkově text dobře zapadá do současného tržního narativu. AI se, jak je patrné z vývoje posledních týdnů, postupně posouvá z faktoru, který má ekonomiku podpořit, do faktoru, který jí může alespoň v přechodové fázi uškodit. Debata se tak posouvá od otázky „jak rychle AI zvýší produktivitu“ k otázce „jak rychle se ekonomika dokáže této produktivitě přizpůsobit“. V dlouhém horizontu zůstávám příznivcem první varianty. Za pozornost stojí i to, že akcie zmiňované v textu si včera prošly citelným propadem, což jen podtrhuje rostoucí citlivost trhu na toto téma. Text od Citrini Research: citriniresearch.com/p/2028gic

@DrNickA @jamie247 MiFiD specifically forbids any trading of equity unless it is following the old-fashioned CSD - exchange - broker model. The cost-efficiency of a blockchain comes from the disintermediation of middlemen; in this case, middlemen are required by the law.

@alan_kooper Druhá věc je kdo a jak bude zkoumat, zda došlo k upravení daného AI výtvoru, především pak u textu. Problematičtější je ale neoprávněné používání autorských děl v rámci promptů, tedy jejich zpracování bez licence.

@Vixtrol Taky to tak vnímám. Celé se to ještě zkomplikuje jakmile budou mít GTP4 všichni v Office. Já se obávám, že to nepůjde řešit nějak snadno ...

Včera jsem dostal dotaz nad kterým přemýšlím už nějakou dobu. Jak je to s právy na texty od AI GPT4 a BARD? Pokud jim hodím headline (z bloomberg, FT, WSJ apod.) a oni mi sestrojí článek a já si ho postnu na web nebo sem na Twitter? emám tu nějakého IT právníka?
