Two papers appear this week at @PET_Symposium and #FOCI2024 In the work led by @WhatIsCyber, we explore the application of NLP techniques to generate up-to-date probe lists automatically. By analyzing content from over 139,957 URLs and generating 119,255 new ones, we identified 1,400 potentially blocked domains. This automation is an important step forward in understanding and combating Web censorship. The second paper, led by Paola and Larissa @smithcollege, demonstrates how ML models can help detecting DNS tampering by analyzing global DNS measurement data from @OpenObservatory. Our findings highlight the potential for ML to enhance traditional detection methods, adapting to evolving censorship tactics.
