In case you were wondering what it feels like for a debut author to survive the pre-publication wind-up, the launch, the book tour, and the re- entry back into civilian life: It feels something like THIS. The concept applies to both the worst and best moments of everything.

And finally... Albuquerque! At Bookworks, final tour stop in my other hometown. Surreal to be surrounded by more family, old friends, cheerful strangers. Gratefully floored by the excitement & joy you've all showered upon me & this novel that's finally stumbled into the world.

How lucky was I to be included in the Texas Book Festival as a mere debut author? So many highlights, including my panel with author Esmeralda Santiago+moderator Joy Diaz, plus all the girls in the Capitol building taking quinceanera photos in their Texas- sized dresses.

San Antonio! The book tour has commenced with the Texas Author Series, with the Latino Bookstore at the Guadalupe Cultural Center. What a beautiful place to begin. @Librotraficante
