@_FizzyMonster@LongSwimmer1@ksfortier@FlyersNation@WaltRuff Honestly I think Buffalo is going out in the first round anyway. They've been on a roll for a really long time and are an incredibly inexperienced young team. It wouldn't shock me at all if they were overwhelmed by playoff hockey
Nic Deslauriers is a 3rd line winger tonight in Philadelphia 😳
The Carolina Hurricanes are resting some big guns: Sebastian Aho, Shayne Gostisbehere, Seth Jarvis, Jaccob Slavin, Andrei Svechnikov
Lines from Carolina’s Walt Ruff (@WaltRuff):
Hall - Stankoven - Blake
Ehlers - Kotkaniemi - Nadeau
Carrier - Jankowski - Deslauriers
Robinson - Brind'Amour - Martinook
Miller - Chatfield
Nikishin - Walker
Reilly - Legault
Bussi
@Raiderfrank65@LongSwimmer1@ksfortier@FlyersNation@WaltRuff Unless Montreal or Tampa Bay take the first seed from Buffalo (I.e. they lose to both chicago & dallas or only win one and lose the other in reg, with Montreal & Tampa winning their remaining) I think they will make it out of the first. As of right now they are playing the bruins
@LongSwimmer1@ksfortier@FlyersNation@WaltRuff Fair, and honestly that is the reason I assumed. It would just be expected that it happened the last game of the season. I hope to see Kochetkov play against the islanders, but in reality I believe Brandon Bussi and crew could lead Canes to a win tonight.
@_FizzyMonster@ksfortier@FlyersNation@WaltRuff As a canes fan…I’d much rather guys be healthy and rested going into the playoffs than worrying about home ice in the 3rd round (also we’ve had home ice twice in the conf finals the last 3 years and it didn’t help much lol).
@ksfortier@FlyersNation@WaltRuff Which is what actually confuses me as well. I am not sure why they aren't playing for home-ice, as they also need to ensure 2 points incase they play Dallas in the finals. I guess they think they can pick up at least 1 point against either Flyers or Islanders.
@_FizzyMonster@FlyersNation@WaltRuff If that is the case, why would Brindamour risk sitting so many top players? Why would he risk falling to the 2nd seed and possibly losing home ice if they play Buff in the conf finals?
@ksfortier@FlyersNation@WaltRuff ROWs is the second criteria for a tie breaker. RW is the first criteria in a tie breaker. Buffalo has 41 RW with Carolina having 38. Carolina needs to get atleast 1 more point in order to clinch conference (assuming Buffalo wins their next 2), or Buffalo needs to lose atleast 1.
@ksfortier@FlyersNation@WaltRuff They can if they lose tonight and against the islanders with the sabres winning their games against the blackhawks and stars. Sabres hold the tie-breaker in the case of a tie.
@FlyersNation@WaltRuff YES! I posted a little while ago that I hoped that the Canes would rest some of their key guys. They can't lose out on the top spot in the Eastern Conf, so it makes sense.
@SportsWageringT@Sapsterr_@MrHoots1978@joefromdabridge He is good defensively, he is currently lacking offensive capabilities but has demonstrated that he can playmake, just doesn’t have decent linemen. Look at Connor garland, didn’t score for like 20 games in Van and scored 2 in his 2nd and 3rd in Columbus.
Call me crazy….if #LeafsForever are retooling, maybe trading for Elias Pettersson makes sense
Low acquisition cost if you take on full salary, can fit as 2C, Tavares to 3C or wing
Include Morgan Rielly, both need a change in scenery
Could be a reclamation project that works?
@John56239641@Jfperrau@myabradshaw78 The so called Great Recession primarily affected the United States. Canada was minimally affected. Yes there was job losses (American companies going under), but not anywhere as bad as the Great Depression.
@Jfperrau@myabradshaw78 It was the Great Recession that necessitated a quick influx of government spending. For the fiscal year of 2009-2010, that’s why the Harper government ran a deficit of $56.4 billion. It positioned Canada as the least impacted globally
@Tablesalt13 It isn’t a major chain. He seems to be purchasing from a small business (who usually purchase from those major chains). If he went straight there it would be about 66-75% of the price.
@d_luciw@politics_w_sami@mario4thenorth You do realize there is the right to freedom of speech? They can say it however they want. Even for thanksgiving for example some say “Happy Thanksgiving” some say “Happy Turkey Day” and some say something else. It all comes to personal preference at the end of the day.
@politics_w_sami@mario4thenorth No, your right. Nothing wrong saying happy holidays. But when you live in Canada, we say merry fucking Christmas, not happy holidays….it is our Canadian culture and to be respected. Fit in or fuck off!!
HAPPY DIWALI
Did you notice I didn’t say “Happy Lights” or “Happy Festival”?
Canadians need to remember that we are a country founded on Christian principles and values.
So when the time comes around, let’s say Merry Christmas again.
Not Happy Holidays
Restore our heritage
@stanfordseq@politics_w_sami@mario4thenorth Some people say “Merry Christmas” Some “Merry Christmas & Happy new year” Some “Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays” Some just say “Happy Holidays”. It all comes down to personal preference the person saying it. Theirs also multiple ways to say “Happy Diwali”, one which is commoner.
@politics_w_sami@mario4thenorth True, there are multiple holidays around the same time- but, the decorations are always Christmas themed like a Christmas tree… so why say happy holidays then lol
@mario4thenorth Most people often say Happy Holidays to prevent saying Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. If the two events weren’t so close together, it wouldn’t be like that Easter, or thanksgiving or any other event/holiday for example. It happens primarily for the purpose they are close.
@PierrePoilievre There 25 mp in Toronto at 3 million people and 37 in alberta at just over 4 million people so let cut that down to half 12 in Toronto and 17 in alberta look just save millions a years in taxes federally
On economic growth, Carney promised we’d be first, instead we're second worst.
The solution is simple: get this Prime Minister and Liberal government out of the way. Cut Liberal taxes and remove Liberal barriers, so builders can build, workers can work & Canada can grow.
@bruce_barrett@BOYT_LeRoy@MaximusDec33012 Only refugees are subsidized by the taxpayers in order to give them a fair chance of immigration to a country. Refugees that the gov personally invites by the way, not these random asylum seekers that show up. Regular TFW are not subsidized by the taxpayer. They just show up more
@CelticAshes If this is from Surrey, (I think I recognize the voice), the guy is consistently recording police and obstructing them from doing their job. Was against the transition from rcmp to sps and would literally go up and film sps. Including filming the victim, don’t remember his social
An Indian immigrant gets arrested for reckless speeding and stunting, then films the officer to harass him and labels him a racist while mocking his income and lecturing him on his rights.
Great job to the officer, who most likely saved a fellow Canadian’s life that evening. 🇨🇦
@wnc_canada@AbbyPoliceDept Not quite.
He just waesnt given a permit to preform in a public park, for the purposes of safety concerns. He can still go to venues in Abbotsford to preform or at a church or something, just not the park that he had applied to preform at.
