CORRECTION: The 2022 Nats indeed set the record for worst division record in MLB history (since 1969) going 17-59 (.224) in the final year of the old schedule format. That was broken by the 2024 White Sox, who finished 10-42 (.192) against the AL Central.

Foster Griffin, despite clearly not being he sharpest, has aced his first test against a repeat opponent. 6 innings complete in what should be a shutout performance and a 1-0 lead. Leaves with an ERA of 2.27. Far and away the best offseason acquisition for the #Nats.

@federalbaseball @NatsOfTheFuture For me, it's the chase rate. It's about as bad as the whiff. If he can fix that, I think the whiffs and the grounders go down to more acceptable levels.

The whiffs and ground balls prevent me from fully buying into the profile, but you cannot deny Yohandy Morales' production to start the season. Hitting .327 with a .922 OPS

Since Victor Robles caught the final out of the 2019 NLCS, the #Nats are 183-272 (.402) at home. They went 0-3 at home in the WS (don't care) and they've obviously been bad overall since, but this is ridiculous. They're currently behind the pace of the 2025 Rockies at Coors.

For those keeping score, Luis Perales has a 4.35 ERA (5.55 FIP) in 6 appearances at AAA... Long way to go, but doesn't feel good as an anti-Bennett trade guy.
