@Vbanex @honour_can_code To add to this, many enterprise companies also get support from RedHat on their Java libraries. Think of the RedHat release of Quarkus, Apache Camel or ActiveMQ clients. People stick with Java for its durability and enterprise level support.

First off, I’d like to apologize to everyone for my crash out earlier. I usually have much better control over my emotions, but at the time I read this, I had just learned that the cat I spend ₦30k monthly taking care of had been turned into “aboki stew.” I was crashing out and trauma dumping on you. Now, let’s break down the fallacies you just spewed and called “takes.” “This is why a CS degree is important.”
This line actually shows that if you do have a CS degree, you paid zero attention in class. Any solid CS course that teaches time complexity makes one thing clear: Big O dominates language choice. Algorithms are always a bigger factor than the language unless you’re doing I/O operations that hit the disk. Your maze example doesn’t. That example screams incompetence on your part, not Python’s. Python isn’t slow for applications; it’s slow when you’re doing heavy CPU bound work. And your maze example doesn’t fall into that category. “I don’t understand time complexity” Claiming I don’t understand time complexity after benchmarking poorly written code and then generalizing from it just shows another level of incompetence. Using a single maze example to dismiss Python without explaining your algorithm or data structures is anti-CS thinking, or you’re just desperate to “win” the argument with no regard for what you claim to do and love. If you’re willing to show the Python code that supposedly failed you, I’ll rewrite it and make it as fast as your Java version at most a 200 ms difference. That is, assuming you actually did this and aren’t just lying. Bring your code, and I’ll prove Python isn’t slow. You’re just incompetent. If you cannot bring your code, don’t bother with a reply. If you want to claim you don’t have it anymore, then it’s safe to assume you wrote it long ago, when you were even more incompetent than you are now. I and my bottle of Viju wheat are waiting for you.
Josiah@100_crown

This is why a CS degree is important. 1 secs in python and 10ms in C is 100x latency. 100ms in C becomes 10 seconds in Python. I've experienced this practically. Wrote a maze function in python. Took about 40 seconds to run. Rewrote it in Java and it took about 5 seconds.

How lack of rate-limiting can lead to an account takeover of this mobile app: > Get the victim’s email from any source. > Click on “Forgot Password.” > Paste the email. > The victim receives a 4-digit OTP that expires in 3-5 minutes. > Enter a random 4-digit OTP with a new password and capture the request. > Send the request to Intruder or FFUF. > Set the minimum and maximum length to 4 digits, that’s 9,999 possible attempts to guess the correct combination. > Less than 60 seconds later: Password reset successful! > Use the victim’s email and new password to log in. > Congratulations! Account Takeover. Recommendation: - Implement proper rate limiting and throttling - Do not use 4 digits as a reset Pin, it should be >=6 with a mix of numbers and alphabets. - Ensure OTP expires on time. You’re welcome.

@ennycodes Functions are not meant to be that long. The standard cognitive complexity for quality codes is always around 15

Nobody can even ask me what were you doing at 17 😂😂 So no dey use 17 years old boy PR oppress us. Some of us also started coding around that age, when there was no AI. Only stack overflow and YouTube tutorials. We use Solo Learn and attended FreeCodeCamp meetups at Marina.

I honestly love how creative this generation is. Imagine a 17-year-old boy built an LLM @OkeyMeta from scratch. At 17!, this is the kind of story that makes you stop and think about how much potential young people carry. Join me this Thursday with @real_okechukwu as we hear his journey firsthand. 🔗 x.com/i/spaces/1lpkq…
