Codex just got a lot more powerful. Computer use, in-app browser, image generation and editing, 90+ new plugins to connect to everything, multi-terminal, SSH into devboxes, thread automations, rich document editing. Learns from experience and proactively suggestions work. And a ton more.

it was one of the coolest and productive experiences i ever had a couple of weeks ago before anthropic pulled the plug on max subscriptions. been trying gpt 5.4 but it sucks and paying $100-200/day for opus api isn’t feasible, so yeah it was good while it lasted or just too good to be true i guess

I have to say something...please don't be mad. OpenClaw has been nearly unusable for the past week. Something changed and now everything is broken. Looking forward to testing Personal Computer.
Perplexity@perplexity_ai

Today we're releasing Personal Computer. Personal Computer integrates with the Perplexity Mac App for secure orchestration across your local files, native apps, and browser. We’re rolling this out to all Perplexity Max subscribers and everyone on the waitlist starting today.

i paid about €85 + tax into Claude Max extra usage because i believed it would let me continue using Anthropic with OpenClaw after the recent changes. instead i’m still blocked by billing errors, and there’s no clear way to apply that balance to API billing. i also tried contacting support by email and got nowhere. no human response, no clear resolution, just dead ends. this is an extremely confusing and frustrating customer experience. i just want a clear answer from @AnthropicAI can this balance be transferred to API credits, or will it be refunded?

@AnthropicAI I paid for Claude extra usage, it’s enabled, and the UI shows I’ve only used 47% with balance remaining. But when I use Claude through external tools (OpenClaw), Opus still fails with Anthropic API billing errors. I’ve already tried support and only got bot replies. If Claude extra usage no longer covers API/tool usage, that needs to be stated clearly.

@thekitze I think a lot of people gave up when anthropic killed usings Claude max subscriptions in OC. i’m not giving up that easily though, i still have hopes for OpenAI actually making GPT work. until then I’m forced to track API token spending like a hawk for anything that touches ant.

@petergyang same here been having serious issues with using GPT inside openclaw. I really hope OpenAI will grab this opportunity to turn it around with the help of Peter and his team plus the OAI lab, they should be able to pull this off.

I know OpenClaw isn't part of OpenAI but this feels like a mini-crisis for OpenAI if the GPT integration doesn't improve soon. The bar is GPT needs to be just as good if not better for OpenClaw as Opus.

Yeah, situation's getting out of hand. I think it's pretty clear that we need to decentralize as much as possible here. Hopefully these kind of things will fuel people to wanna build alternatives before it's too late. Problem is resources, but we are many who feel this way so maybe we can combine what we have to make more impact.

I wish you'd let us tinkerers continue using our max subscriptions with whatever harness we preferred. as paying hundreds of dollars in API cost's daily isn't really feasible for most of us. I'm sure there must be some kind of mutually beneficial agreement where the community could continue tinkering while you'd still get your share of the data.

I think "prompting" will keep being an incredibly high-leverage skill, like writing or public speaking. It is the skill of talking to agents, mediated by the harness. My main goal is to grow the bandwidth between humans and agents, to help us understand each other better.

@steipete tried but it span up a new openclaw instance that i nuked as i don't wanna deal with figuring out if i need to symlink my old oc (npm) to the new dev one at 2am. will wait until this reaches public or beta. hope it works out for everyone testing tho and look fwd to try it!

@trq212 i’d rather be able to use the claude max plan i was paying for responsibly in whatever software i choose, especially as i am only using a part of what the max plan offers (opus).

the problem for me and other designers/tinkerers (who aren’t native coders) is that gpt/codex won’t work as well as opus did. opus would be able to figure out what i wanted and build directly without prompting or handholding. gpt 5.4 just won’t get it right, it straight up hallucinates/lies. it’s like it doesn’t understand how to cope with being an orchestrator in openclaw. i’m a long-time gpt plus user with nothing but good experience inside chatgpt/codex but in oc it’s been a pain. what’s worse is knowing how awesome opus was, but paying 800+/month isn’t feasible rn so if openai manages to make gpt/codex work as naturally as opus did then i’d gladly pay $100-200/month for it. i’m sure a whole bunch of creatives with a desire to build would too.

Anthropic now blocks first-party harness use too 👀 claude -p --append-system-prompt 'A personal assistant running inside OpenClaw.' 'is clawd here?' → 400 Third-party apps now draw from your extra usage, not your plan limits. So yeah: bring your own coin 🪙🦞

Becoming a dad has taught me a new kind of empathy. When I hear a baby crying on a plane, or see a toddler melting down in public, or a thousand other things... I get it. I understand it now. Shoutout to all my parents out there. You rock.

@adamwathan nope and probably won’t be getting any more airpods unless they make the internal battery last more than the ~2.5 years my airpod max did. going cabled until they at least make changing batteries easier 😅
