@Manhattva Not sure why this is news. This is from 2023 and no violations were found. No one she recruited has argued before Roberts.
Also, she made a little over 1 million a year …which puts her towards the top but actually is that much money.

@terrakei07 It’s not: “why do you Americans hate California so much?”
It’s: “why does California make itself so unlikable?”
English

嫌味とかではなく本当に素朴な疑問なんだけど、アメリカ人の皆さんはなんでそこまでカリフォルニアを嫌っているんですか?

I have another proposal. We swap California for Japan geographically and leave everything else as is.

@DarelBoyer @tvheidihatch Don’t try to push my jokes into your well reasoned arguments. I won’t stand for it.

@PubliusDB Dan, you need to divorce your wife. Life’s too short to live like a caged animal. You can thank me later.

A NYC school teacher has a GREAT idea for billionaires leaving New York. 🤣🙄
He suggests that if the billion dollar companies leave then the regular folks should just take over their businesses.
Journalist: “What do you say to the folks who say, if you tax millionaires, they're going to leave the city and the top 1% pays 40% of the taxes in the city. What happens if they leave? What's your response?”
NYC Teacher: “We should take their business and we run it for the city ourselves.” 🤡
Journalist: “They take their business to Florida, you feel like you can keep it here?”
NYC Teacher: “They can't leave the building. They can't just bring their whole entire workforce to Florida. Right?
They can't bring all of the resources that they have to build the business here to Florida. Thats where you would say we're building a real movement, right?”
“To stop that, we’d make it illegal for them to actually leave. We would find them to hell if they're gonna try to abandon their property here. Because clearly people do need to work, right? People do need to make a living.”
Are they really all this stupid??

No one is suggesting you can’t argue for improving the system, just that shorting the staff isn’t the way to do that. You’re punishing the wrong person.
Ironically, Lauren wants a say in the value of wait staff (“isn’t $30 an hour enough?” she says) but she opposes the system that gives her that ability - results based tipping. In non-tipping systems you don’t get to reward based on who did or didn’t do a good job. And the incentive to do a better job is now gone.
I hate eating out in Europe and Asia where tipping isn’t common, because the service is horrible.
English

@beeneeks @TheLaurenChen @m1ndhunter_x So striving for improvement shouldn't be considered (like giving people a living wage for their work, and reevaluating bogus labor laws in general), because that would be bad...how?
English

Assuming these people were at the restaurant for 2 hours
A $60 tip means this server made $30/hour off this ONE TABLE
Is that not enough for a waiter to make?
Does being a waiter really need to be a $150/hour job?
The entitlement behind a lot of tipping culture is insane

You try to draw a comparison to other countries as if their system should be applied here. Great. But it’s not. In American the system IS 15-20% and everyone knows it and should work within that system. When I’m in Japan, I don’t tip, because that’s their system. In America, I tip 15-20%, because that’s their system.
And to mirror your other comment, if the system is so bad, don’t take it out on the wait staff - that literally just served you.
English

@m1ndhunter_x The man DID tip though! And this is the tip for a single table.
If the system is so bad, dont blame the customer, blame the system and restaurant.
Other countries dont have these problems

@FriedScones It's kind of funny that you used vulgar language to complain about vulgar language in TV.

Modern sports aren’t about competition or joy anymore. They’re fueling obsession, gambling, arrogance, and distraction from what matters. Youth sports begin with good intentions but feed a system that leaves most pros financially ruined and physically wrecked. It’s growing more corrupt and evil by the day.
70% of kids quit youth sports by age 13 due to pressure/burnout.
78% of NFL players face financial stress within 2 years of retirement.
Leagues push alcohol & gambling nonstop—fueling binge drinking at games/tailgates and skyrocketing addiction.
It has become a false religion for millions.
