Extrajudicial Killing in Effurun The extrajudicial killing of a young Nigerian in Effurun, Delta State, by a police officer, Mr. Mene Ogidi, is not only barbaric but also a grave violation of the rule of law. Over time, human society has moved away from an era when lives could be taken without consequence. Through the evolution of civilisation, a fundamental principle has emerged: no one should be punished or deprived of life without due process and a fair determination of guilt. Such acts inflict unimaginable trauma on the bereaved family and deepen public anxiety in an already distressed society. Nigerians are already traumatised by recurring reports of brutal killings by terror organisations across the country, and incidents of this nature - especially when involving state actors - only worsen that psychological burden and erode public confidence in safety and security. In light of this, while the law must take its full course, I commend the prompt response of the police authorities so far and express confidence that they will pursue this matter to its logical conclusion. Such responsiveness is necessary to reassure the public that justice will not be compromised. I therefore urge the police and all security agencies to sustain this approach by acting with transparency and accountability. Furthermore, recruitment processes must be more rigorous, ensuring that only individuals of sound judgment and the right frame of mind are entrusted with firearms. In the final analysis, these measures can restore public trust and uphold justice - both of which are indispensable to building a new Nigeria that is possible. -PO

URGENT CLARIFICATION ON ADC - HIGH COURT JUDGEMENT !! Just read the judgment on Premier News and The Punch. The reports show that the case was filed by the outgoing chairmen against the party leadership. In its ruling, the court held that they should be allowed to complete their tenure. This is why the party has fixed May 12 for the swearing-in of the chairmen-elect. However, once the Supreme Court rules in favour of the ADC leadership led by Senator David Mark, the matter will be fully settled, and the internal leadership structure will be clarified. Those who took the party to court have been expelled from the party. It is therefore important for all members and stakeholders to remain calm and focused at this stage. Political and legal processes often come with different interpretations and emotions, but what is most important is that the rule of law is respected while the courts complete their assignment. Members are encouraged not to be distracted by tension or misinformation. With time, clarity will emerge fully through the appropriate judicial authorities, and the party will continue to move forward stronger and more united. Victory, in this sense, is not just about court outcomes, but about order, stability, and the continued progress of the party.

Assalamu alaikum baba ina kwana You all wanted this ticket because of your selfish interest you believe that with what happened in 2023 you can't win election without Obi you just want to use him and win election but that's not what Nigerian's want what Nigerians want is good governance after what we saw with buhari we can't risk voting someone who's only wish is to achieve his lifetime ambition of becoming a president bazamu kara wanan gangancin ba.
Hamma@HAHayatu

No doubt some of us wanted an Atiku/Obi ticket because Obi is an added advantage. When something is added advantage it means is not a must but will add to the beauty. The ship have sailed.

Peter Obi has fundamentally changed Nigerian politics. As Governor of Anambra, he introduced a new governance style built on prudence and results. His impeachment and subsequent legal battles contributed to the shift to off-season elections we have today. In 2023, his presidential campaign destroyed the myth that governors’ endorsements and rigid party structures are required to win. He built a massive movement on competence, frugality, and youth inclusion. Even after the election, he pursued justice through legitimate legal channels, strengthening democratic norms. While others retreated to Dubai after the polls, Obi remained on the ground for over three years now, holding power accountable with facts, attending seminars, summits, TV shows, podcasts, weddings, burials, and international engagements. He listens, reads, researches, acts, and humbly apologises when wrong. No ego. Just steady, verifiable leadership. Nigeria needs this same energy, humility, and innovation at the presidential level. Against the incumbent APC administration, Peter Obi represents a fresh, results-driven alternative. He has already changed how opposition politics is played, and by God's grace as president, he will change governance itself. Peter Obi is the right leader for this moment. Nigeria deserves him on the ballot. A New Nigeria is POssible ✅️ #NigeriaWillBeOK #PeterObiIsComing

Personally, I think the response to any funny act to deactivate ADC as a platform for the next general election should not be to move to another party. It should be to finally decide if Nigeria wants to practice democracy or not! How long shall we run? Make of this whatever you want.

During the 2023 elections, I was the head of strategy of the Atiku's team and I warned them about Peter Obi's rising popularity but they didn't listen. In fact they made a mockery of the whole situation and even dismissed Obi as being inconsequential — Sam Amadi ME: The same way they are dismissing him in 2026. They didn't learn.

“The Rule Of Law is an Intangible Asset”- Peter Obi The brutal extrajudicial killing of the young man in Delta State in broad daylight is proof that governance has collapsed in Nigeria. A lawless government that cannot protect or provide for the masses, a government that breaks the law at will, can NEVER care for Reforms like Police or Judiciary Reforms. What many young Nigerians died for in 2020 #EndSars is still prevalent today. One thing is synonymous since #EndSars, and that is APC, the party of tears, sorrow, and blood, is still in office. How much did we fail all those that we lost in 2020 by allowing these evil people to remain in power 🤦🏾‍♂️

Hate him. Ridicule him. But in the streets of Nigeria for the ordinary citizen he is Peter Obi. His bond with the masses are undisputed by any of his rivals. He is a conduit for a greater emergent Nigeria & one of the most misunderstood individuals I have had the pleasure of ever meeting.

EFCC's Troubling Revelation on Our Students. The worrisome statement by the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) that 6 out of every 10 Nigerian university students are involved in “419” is deeply troubling and must not be taken lightly. Nigeria already has a very limited number of students in higher institutions, estimated at 2 to 2.5 million. If indeed about 60% of them, roughly 1.4 million young people, are involved in fraud, then we are not just facing a crime issue; we are confronting a serious moral and systemic failure. The question we must ask ourselves is: what has brought us to this level? Who are the role models these students are looking up to?. What values are they learning from society? We must understand that young people become what they consistently see. When a system appears to reward wrongdoing, when integrity is not upheld, and when those in leadership are associated with allegations of forgery and dishonesty without consequence, it sends a dangerous message. It suggests that hard work does not matter, and that results, by any means, are acceptable. These points clearly point to a collapse of moral values. As Socrates rightly said, “An unexamined life is not worth living.” Nigeria must now examine itself. This is not about condemning our young people. It is about accepting that leadership sets the tone. If we do not demonstrate integrity at the top, we cannot expect it at the bottom. We must urgently rebuild our value system, enforce accountability without bias, and create an environment where honesty, hard work, and discipline are rewarded. That is the only sustainable path to securing the future of our nation. A new Nigeria is POssible! -PO
