@dieworkwear Same for when a new Bond film comes out and every British clothing maker starts promoting their piece that got in the movie.

it's easier to do this for unique pieces, but when guys ask for an ID, they're often asking about a very generic black leather jacket they like bc the wearer has a strong jawline

@wilshipley I’m sure this has been discussed but assuming earth becomes inhospitable, wouldn’t it be easier to make a self sustaining colony here? If you have to pick between two dead planets might as well choose the one with all the people and materials.

I can’t believe he’s still pushing the “Self-sustaining Mars” bullshit. What are you going to breathe? To eat? How are you going to kickstart mining and manufacturing and farming on a dead planet with no resources we know of? He thinks he’s a visionary but he’s an idiot.

@dieworkwear I mean it’s easy to imagine some tacky old guy seeing these and getting ideas.

i know this is cheating bc brands always pad the margins on small accessories. but for example: L: cucinelli card case. fully machine sewn for $450. look at holes btw stitches R: chester mox card case. fully handsewn, bespoke, and MiUSA. ~$250. look at how stitches are tighter.

everyone talks about the quality of cucinelli's clothes. the soft fabrics, sublime construction, and beautiful lifestyle marketing. but this $2,500 travel jacket was apparently made with fused lapels. and they got delaminated in a dry clean. #post-11202732" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">styleforum.net/threads/did-dr…

@dieworkwear I don’t know how many words that article was but these were the only that mattered.

the photos in that NYT story are so absurd. all of these people look fine. honestly, even the lady who has briefly taken off her birkenstocks because she's sleeping. get a grip. your business casual outfit is no better nytimes.com/2022/08/03/sty…

Baffling how major pubs will cycle through the same three stories for decades "Is the suit dead?" "Restaurants no longer require coat-and-tie" "Travelers dress sloppy" Are editors unable to assign more interesting stories? Do readers not get tired of reading the same thing?

Fede rings from Italy, 15th cent. The word "fede" comes from the Italian phrase for "hands clasped in faith." These two show two hands clasped in friendship, the others holding a heart. According to the IG archaeologyart, they may have been love tokens or betrothal rings.

@BenKuchera It’s pretty amazing, coming for a person who hasn’t had a gaming PC in 15 years.

@dieworkwear 100% agree in not abusing policies that frankly make life nicer and a little more humane. But for whatever reason this seems less like exploiting a loophole and more a company not honoring a warranty. Maybe that’s the hangup, policy vs warranty?

@bitmover I feel like these guarantees also require some responsibility on the part of the consumer to interpret them in a way that's reasonable. Certainly, under the literal definition, you can return these for the rest of your life and only pay $12 for socks. But that seems unreasonable

this is why we cant have nice things man buys 12 pairs of socks from bass pro shop 10 years ago. he took advantage of their "lifetime guarantee" and kept returning them when they wore out. and now he's suing for $5m cause they won't take them back again washingtonpost.com/nation/2022/07…

@bitmover @ZonardCity Thanks, Joseph! I'm doing a separate post on brands that trade in GBP. Will be sure to include those. This post is just on brands that use euros.
