it's easier to do this for unique pieces, but when guys ask for an ID, they're often asking about a very generic black leather jacket they like bc the wearer has a strong jawline

@wilshipley I’m sure this has been discussed but assuming earth becomes inhospitable, wouldn’t it be easier to make a self sustaining colony here? If you have to pick between two dead planets might as well choose the one with all the people and materials.

I can’t believe he’s still pushing the “Self-sustaining Mars” bullshit. What are you going to breathe? To eat? How are you going to kickstart mining and manufacturing and farming on a dead planet with no resources we know of? He thinks he’s a visionary but he’s an idiot.

a lot of what used to be the online community for classic men's tailoring has become obsessed with wacky shoes—red loafers, green oxfords, and bi-color hippo-elk boots—and i don't get it. this stuff is so ugly.

@dieworkwear 100% agree in not abusing policies that frankly make life nicer and a little more humane. But for whatever reason this seems less like exploiting a loophole and more a company not honoring a warranty. Maybe that’s the hangup, policy vs warranty?

@bitmover I feel like these guarantees also require some responsibility on the part of the consumer to interpret them in a way that's reasonable. Certainly, under the literal definition, you can return these for the rest of your life and only pay $12 for socks. But that seems unreasonable

this is why we cant have nice things man buys 12 pairs of socks from bass pro shop 10 years ago. he took advantage of their "lifetime guarantee" and kept returning them when they wore out. and now he's suing for $5m cause they won't take them back again washingtonpost.com/nation/2022/07…
