“Military aged men” - just think about it. They were killing any male civilians within 3km of a man whom the civilians had no way of knowing was there. This is the rescue some think is so admirable
Chris Gordon@ByChrisGordon

U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drones protected the rescued F-15E crew member by striking Iranian military-aged males believed to be a threat who got within three kilometers of the Airman, a person familiar with the operation told Air & Space Forces Magazine.

France made this wastefulness illegal cause it’s cruel and only causes more waste issues. Any food market or restaurant over 400 square meters has to donate all their good unsold food to charities and are fined if they do anything like this. That law should be applied everywhere
MatrixMysteries@MatrixMysteries

An American showed what his local Krispy Kreme does with unsold donuts at night. Straight into the trash. After private equity took over, the price of a dozen climbed to $22. And instead of selling them cheaper… They’d rather WASTE the food than lower the profit margin.

I'd like to thank Donald Trump for confirming that Iran's government didn’t kill “ 40,000 peaceful unarmed protesters” and in fact, the U.S and Israel provided weapons and guns to violent rioters. It eventually comes out.

Whenever there's even the mere possibility of US/Iran negotiations, one thing tis certain: Israel will act immediately to destroy any such possibility, because Israel's goal is to lure the US to destroy the entire Iranian state and render it permanently shattered.
Sulaiman Ahmed@ShaykhSulaiman

BREAKING: Israel Defense Minister Israel Katz: "The IDF has now powerfully attacked the largest petrochemical facility in Iran, which is located in Islava. Now the two facilities, which together are responsible for about 85% of Iran's petrochemical exports - have been put out of use and are not functioning."

It's very weird when people insist on calling Iran a theocracy, but refuse to do the same for the United Kingdom, where the King is the head of the state religion, and where the state religion is granted voting seats in the House of Lords. By definition it is literally theocracy.

We do this in literally every country. It’s standard U.S./Israel operating procedure. Arming rebels, claiming oppressed people are freeing themselves, and then executing a regime change and stealing resources. Trump is despicable.
Jeremy Loffredo@loffredojeremy

What was called an Iranian regime conspiracy theory has now been confirmed by the President of the united States. Not only were the Iranian “protestors” violent, they were armed with “a lot” of guns given to them by the United States.

Make no mistake: destroying world-class universities, like the US just did with Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, isn't just an attack on Iran but it's literally an attack on all of us, on all of humanity. It's not Iran that "won" when Maryam Mirzakhani made her discoveries that won her a Fields Medal: it's all of mathematics, and everything mathematics is used for. Human progress won, technology won, we all won. It's the same type of stuff the Mongols did during the sack of Baghdad and their destruction of the House of Wisdom: we ALL lost something irreplaceable back then, entire fields of human knowledge set back. That's what bombing a university does. It doesn't just destroy buildings. It destroys us, all of us.

Absolute bombshell on Al Jazeera. The US and Israel have deliberately bombed over 30 universities across Iran, assassinating professors in their homes and massacring over 60 students. Washington is systematically trying to destroy Iranian scientific progress.

Mandem from Nigeria said Iran is second to hell, mind you, the Christians in Iran are safer than those in Nigeria despite Iran being in an actual war.
sarah@sahouraxo

In Tehran today, Iranian Christians gathered for Easter at Saint Sarkis Cathedral. Iran has one of the oldest continuous Christian communities in the world — over 2,000 years old. These are the people that Trump wants to bomb “back to Stone Age.”

Oracle executives are getting DEATH THREATS after that 6 AM email massacre and Larry Ellison just hired Blackwater-level private security 30,000 workers butchered via automated email while Oracle posts $6.13 BILLION in quarterly profits I'm hearing Oracle leadership is now working from "undisclosed locations" because former employees are showing up at headquarters with printed copies of their termination emails Sources saying the Redwood City campus looks like a military compound. Armed guards checking IDs. Parking garage access restricted. Executive floor completely locked down. Oracle spent more on executive protection this quarter than they'll pay in severance to 30,000 families The same company that automates human termination emails can't automate executive safety Larry Ellison's yacht has three security boats following it. Safra Catz hasn't been photographed in public since the bloodbath. Meanwhile former Oracle workers are posting TikToks outside Ellison's $300 million Malibu compound One terminated engineer drove 800 miles from Austin just to stand at the gate with a sign reading "I BUILT YOUR CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE FOR 12 YEARS" Oracle's AI algorithms can eliminate 30,000 jobs in milliseconds but can't predict when desperate people stop playing by corporate rules If you're still at Oracle, your executives are literally hiding from you behind armed security while counting the money they made from destroying your career The revolution isn't coming through the front door anymore. It's coming through the fucking walls.

The story behind the New York Times’ 1903 claim that human flight was between one and ten million years away is even worse than it looks. Once you understand the backstory, you realize that the New York Times story is not really about flight at all but about how elites and credentialed “experts” mistake their own failures for the boundaries of possibility. The New York Times did not dismiss the possibility of powered flight at random. There was a very specific reason behind it. At the time, America’s most prominent scientific authority, Smithsonian Secretary Samuel Langley, had been showered with large amounts of taxpayer funding to build an aircraft, the Langley Aerodrome. Despite all the money, institutional backing, and elite prestige, Langley and his team could not get it to fly, culminating in a series of very public failures, the last on December 8, 1903. So when the New York Times declared that flight was millions of years away, what it was really saying was that if the most credentialed and well-funded “experts” cannot do it, then it cannot be done. A mere nine days later, the elites’ proclamation of impossibility lay in ruins. Two totally unknown bicycle mechanics from Ohio achieved the first powered flight using improvised parts, a few hundred dollars of their own money, and sheer persistence. The story of flight is, at its core, a story of the triumph of American individualism over elite credentialism. The fact that it was the New York Times that inadvertently delivered the proof is the most fitting conclusion imaginable.

The math Italy just handed Netflix is terrifying for every subscription company on Earth. 5.4 million Italian subscribers. Up to €500 per Premium user, €250 per Standard user. Netflix launched in Italy at €11.99/month in 2015 and hiked four times to €19.99 by 2024. The court said every single increase was illegal because the contract never stated a justified reason for any of them. The total refund exposure is somewhere in the hundreds of millions of euros. For a single country with ~2% of Netflix's 325 million global subscribers. Here's what nobody is pricing in: Germany and Spain have already filed identical challenges using the same EU Directive from 1993. Berlin and Cologne courts already ruled that generic price-change clauses are void. Italy just gave every consumer group in Europe a finished legal template. Netflix hiked prices globally on March 26. Six days later, this ruling dropped. The company is now simultaneously raising prices worldwide while a court in its fourth-largest European market ordered it to roll prices back to 2015 levels. The real exposure here isn't Italy. Netflix can absorb hundreds of millions. The real exposure is the legal principle: telling customers "we're raising your price, you can cancel if you don't like it" is not consent under EU law. That logic applies to every subscription service operating in Europe. Every SaaS company. Every streaming platform. Every telecom. The freedom to cancel is not the freedom to agree. That one sentence just repriced the entire European subscription economy.
Pubity@pubity

Italy has declared that Netflix's recent price hikes from 2017 to 2024 were illegal and enacted without proper warning for customers. Netflix not only has to reduce its price in Italy, but pay customers back every cent they overpaid.

First military step would be to call the separatists to Nigeria to strike a deal - after the war, they will be joining Nigeria. Second is to strike same deal with a French speaking opposition leader. Then start pushing weapons in through the border. After about a year, let the rebels launch an offensive. Nigeria blockades the ports and the north, then besieges the capital. Democracy restored. We did it in Liberia and Sierra Leone and can do it in Cameroun. And end up gaining anglophone Cameroun back to Nigeria and ecowas.
