@meijerlouise Grov förenkling. Och det är det som skrämmer: det finns brett stöd för att man tror på förenklingen och inte förstår tekniken (synliggjort i intervjuer). Det är inte höger/vänster utan teknikkunnande som skiljer – alla som förstår tekniken är emot.

Man kan naturligtvis landa olika i vilket av de två intressena
”effektiv brottsbekämpning för att motverka övergreppsbilder på barn”
vs.
”ingen möjlighet till client side scanning i kommunikationstjänster”
som ska väga tyngst.
I riksdagen finns brett stöd för första.

Det spelar roll vilka personer vi väljer till Europaparlamentet, sa vi moderater hela valrörelsen. @tomastobe har återigen bevisat att han är en kraft att räkna med i Bryssel. Sveriges och Moderaternas röst stärks nu ytterligare.

Precis vald till vice ordförande för @EPPgroup. Hedrad över förtroendet att vara med och leda gruppens politiska arbete. Det ger Sverige ett ökat inflytande i Europaparlamentet.

Att förbjuda vanliga användare appar/funktioner om inte staten får möjlighet att avläsa kommunikationen när de som verkligen vill lätt kringgår det. Är det rimligt?

@Douglasthoor Belgiska ordförandeskapet återkom i fredags med ett kompromissförslag som ska upp på Coreper tors. Förslaget som ligger på bordet nu är mer balanserat, bl.a. efter att Sverige drivit på. Vad slutgiltiga förslaget blir efter förhandling mellan rådet & parlamentet återstår att se.

🚨 Thanks to a loophole in Swedish national law, large data brokers can simply obtain a “media licence”, exempting their entire business from the GDPR.
👉 NOYB has now filed a complaint against one data broker to challenge this loophole.

A thing I worry about in the (academic) privacy field is that our work isn’t really improving privacy globally. If anything it would be more accurate to say we’re finding ways to encourage the collection and synthesis of more data, by applying a thin veneer of local “privacy.”
