@deantheconger So sorry for your loss, we were devastated when we lost our jack Russel a few years back.

@bradlerob @HappyHooker1157 As I said in my reply, we cannot physically catch more fish in the limited time we have on the water, there is no shortage of bass here.the EU trawlers hammer the SW and take no notice of size limits or quotas, rod and line boats are not the problem.
English

@captaingrumpy04 @HappyHooker1157 Fair play to you Ian - we all have to make a living. But the more of these really big fish there are, the more fish you’ll be able to catch in the future. The fishing may be good where you are, but there are hardly any bass over 65cm left down here in the SW.

Have a little read.....it explains why we can’t catch Bass in February and March 🎣
It gives the fish a chance to breed and us a chance to have a rest we’re not getting any younger @captaingrumpy04 🤪😂😂😂

You might have seen that there is a ban on fishing for sea bass and wondered why it is happening, or confused as to why you can still buy sea bass in the frozen section of our online seafood market. Everything you need to know > therockfish.co.uk/blogs/good-thi… 📷️ - @HappyHooker1157

@bradlerob @HappyHooker1157 Because if we we put all the large fish back we would be out of business, we have to catch 2500 kilos of bass just to pay the boat expenses. There is no shortage of bass of all sizes out on the grounds but there is a limit as to how many 2 people can physically catch in a season.
English

@HappyHooker1157 @captaingrumpy04 Those two bass you’re holding Annie are prime breeding fish. They produce far more and bigger eggs than smaller mature fish. Why not put the really big ones back?
English

@MikeDonohue1 They live in the woods around our cottage, they turn up every day for food, we started with 1 tame deer 15 years ago, we now have over 30, my wife has given names to over half of them.
English

@captaingrumpy04 What a wonderful event. Hope it happens daily.

Conservation groups are making mugs out of all of us. This is the industrial logging operation being carried out on the “National Trusts” Brownsea Island. The pile of logs on Poole Quay has been appearing, and disappearing for months.#shocking #Hypocrisy

English

@captaingrumpy04 Bet she's gonna get one, too!

@bricklandsfish Hi Karen, there are no legal wild bass available in the uk until the 1st of April, if you are caught with illegal bass you could be in trouble with the fisheries. Whoever supplied you with this fish, if it is genuine wild bass, has committed an offence.
English

@SouthernIFCA @DorsetWildlife @MSCintheUK @MSCecolabel There was a flock of over 300 feeding on the mudbank west of the Wareham channel about a week ago. We have never seen so many in one place.

#ETPSpeciesWeek
Focus on: Avocet
Recognisable by the up-curved beak avocets migrate south to join us for winter. #PooleHarbour hosts 20% of the UK's wintering population! A common place to find them is Wych & Middlebere channels @ mid-tide feeding on small crustaceans & worms.

@alexthepage We have never seen mixed pods before, they all seemed quite happy swimming together.
