Def don’t agree with the @guardian review of The Royal Academy show. Do you?
English

@aservais1 @TheArtNewspaper Also why is monogamy part of the review? What does that have to do with anything at all!

Why don’t ppl in the world dare to say the truth except anonymously?-Anonymous reports from behind the scenes at Basel
I’ve been tasked by @TheArtNewspaper to share some behind-the-scenes insights into what it’s like as a gallerist at Basel this year. #ArtBasel

English

@jjcharlesworth_ @aservais1 Agreed. And also why do we have to cancel it - rather than work on making it better? So short sighted IMO.
English

Lol. The only person who's run out of ideas is Jonathan Jones. Trash reviewing, only capable of hiding behind the names of established artists. Just do some looking first. theguardian.com/artanddesign/a…

@aservais1 @CulturedMag Make that make sense?! He is top class in this field.

@ceascott @nadjasayej @ArtTactic 👍 but not sure the 2 Jerry’s are good ref as the old one repeats the same about fairs for years like a broken record & the young one is queen spitter-in-any-soup she cannot charge for. Nor that anybody can fix fairs becoming too expensive to run & attend to allow experimentation
English

Noticeable that the atmosphere of puff articles on fairs and absence of critical reviews of the commercial art market makes it a must to listen to @nadjasayej at @ArtTactic podcast. Definitely not the mainstream press tone. 🙏 editors give us more of her or similar voices 🔥🔥

@PhilipProudfoot Great. Now put her in prison for 15 years. Think of it as performance art.
English

The protest at Cambridge was not art destruction but art creation.
Whenever there is an act of iconoclastic protest, people seem to think attacking artwork is somehow outside of protest dynamics, when in fact it has a long history.
Throughout time, protestors have defaced art as a substitute for the object of contention (statues, portraits, etc).
Is this really artistic “destruction”? Is it not art creation in reverse?
I quite like the new version of Balfour. And trinity should continue to hang it.

@PhilipProudfoot Orwell wrote: "There are some ideas so absurd that only an intellectual could believe them."
You make his point: your argument is fallacious, self-serving and...well, absurd.
You're using adult words, but your excuses for vandalism are emotionally toddler-level.

@rdgrongoodnet1 @PhilipProudfoot It’s all in the name. Good beats pride every time.

We’ve been huge fans of @anniesalright column for @artnet a while now, so we were pumped to see our founder @ceascott's Reel getting some coverage this week. Love the debate #artworld. Let’s keep it going.
