I heard this joke and I loved it. A man went into a bar and brought out a one-foot-tall man and a small piano from his pocket. The small man started playing the piano. What the woman allegedly did is disgusting and should be condemned. However, beating her is also wrong. Assaulting someone, regardless of the accusation, is not justice. The proper thing would have been to hand her over to the police and allow the relevant authorities to investigate. Given her explanation, there may also be a need for a mental health assessment before any further action is taken. People should be held accountable for their actions, but mob justice is never the answer.

I think Nigerians generally haven’t been proactive enough in demanding accountability on insecurity. Many people only become vocal when the violence reaches their region or affects them directly. Terrorism and banditry should have been confronted as a national emergency from day one
