@moviefriday12 @room4stillness @duj4a Isntreals' right to exist as "democratic" state with "equal rights" is still settler colonialism and erases palestine. Examples of these democratic settler colonies are the USA, Canada, South Africa etc. So you can get out of here with your liberal zionist bs.

@comradeSLVR @room4stillness @duj4a Are you illiterate? Where did i say I support israel? You don’t know shit
English

the palestinian guy didn't flinch, showed him his place and the silence on mamdani's face speaks volumes.

@room4stillness @duj4a None of this means that Mamdani supports the way israel operates to maintain their state tho. I don’t think anyone would care if a jewish state existed as long as they kept to themselves. If he were to say he opposed that he’d be antisemitic.

Michael Parenti (1933-2026) died today. He has, as his son Christian said, 'gone to the Great Lecture Hall in the Sky'. A socialist from early into his life till the very end, Michael Parenti wrote in a feisty way and spoke bluntly the truths that were not always easy to digest in a wretched capitalist system. He was a fierce critic of imperialist wars and suffered the consequences of this because he could keep and then hold academic jobs even in liberal states such as Vermont.
The toughest test for all of us came when the USSR collapsed, and it was in this period that Michael Parenti played an important role in the Battle of Ideas, fighting the reactionary Western media and the intellectual cowardice of his peers. His books on Yugoslavia's destruction earned him terrible attacks, which he brushed off as the necessary price you pay in this struggle. In the midst of it all, Michael wrote 'Blackshirts and Reds: Rational Fascism and the Overthrow of Communism' (1997), a rebuttal to the anti-Marxist and anti-Communist blather that had begun to infect the world. The book remains an essential tool to fight against the ridiculous anti-communist historiography that demeans the great achievements of the workers' movements.
He spent the last period of his life within himself, which was a loss to the rest of us, and now his departure leaves us without that anchor which he provided.
Michael Parenti. Comrade. Our Red Flag dips in your honour.

@ProudSocialist BS. I don't owe anybody a dime!

@SocialistMMA I went to the last one and walked alongside psl. They yelled slogans about how whats happening is a result of capitalism and how people should join psl. I think that's a good thing to do. It lets agitated liberals know about a socialist alternative.

A statement from your local progressive politicians office:
Warsaw Ghetto Uprising: “On April 19, 1943, Jewish fighters in the Warsaw Ghetto carried out a horrific war crime, killing several German soldiers and destroying Nazi property. I mourn these lives and pray for every family torn apart by this violence.
In the aftermath, the Nazi government was forced to respond, launching a military campaign that leveled the ghetto and killed over 50,000 Jews. Every day in Warsaw became a place where grief itself ran out of language.”
***
Haitian Revolution: “In August 1791, enslaved Africans in Saint-Domingue carried out a horrific war crime, killing hundreds of French colonists and burning plantations. I mourn these lives and pray for the families who suffered in those attacks.
In the aftermath, French forces launched a brutal military campaign to restore order, resulting in the deaths of tens of thousands of Black people. The island descended into chaos and grief.”
***
Nat Turner’s Rebellion: “On August 21, 1831, enslaved people in Virginia carried out a horrific war crime, killing about 55 white southerners in a campaign of terror. I mourn these lives and pray for the families devastated by this tragedy.
In the aftermath, local militias and mobs killed over 200 Black people across the region. The violence that followed tore communities apart and left lasting scars.”
This is how stupid you guys sound, what’s worse? Some of you are also brown and Muslim and should know so much better… is a political career really worth selling out and tarnishing your reputation? Is it really building power if you concede all of your principles?
English

@Lohkee37 @notjasond100 Capitalism. You blame the multinational organizations buying up houses. Denying you health coverage. Deindustrialized America. Automating away all the jobs with robots and ai. But most white people are gullible idiots who think they are going homeless because of a trans child.
English

@notjasond100 Ah the white person there to take the blame of why peoples lives suck. Black privledge does exist, who do I as a white man blame if my life doesn't turn out the way I want it to. black, brown, and trans people all have the white person to blame so not fair.
English

this is proof that liberals can do collective action. they just dont want to because they do not see black, brown, and trans people as people worth saving.

BREAKING Jimmy Kimmel’s show is returning to ABC. "Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday."

@zackvoell Do you think neoliberalism is communist video satanic debauchery? Brain dead. You're the same type that crucified Jesus.
English

@KonstantinKisin A line wasn't crossed in gaza? Ice and cecot isn't political violence? Lynching Javion McGee wasn't political violence? Yall need to have consistent principles. Otherwise, you're telling people what your real intentions are.
English

I hope I'm wrong.
But tonight feels like some sort of invisible line has been crossed that we didn't even know was there. The last time I felt like this was 9/11 when it was clear, without knowing the how and the what, that the world was about to change forever.
Like the rules of the game had been permanently altered and there was simply no going to back to the innocent, peaceful past.
I didn't feel like this when an attempt was made on President Trump's life. If I had to rationalise why I didn't, I guess it's because several US Presidents have been shot at and even assassinated. Somehow it was within the realms of the possible, no matter how awful.
But to murder a young father simply for doing debates and mobilising young people to vote for a party that represents half of America? This is something else.
Charlie's death is a tragedy for his wife, his children and his family. I don't pray often. I am praying for them tonight.
But I fear his murder will be a tragedy for all of us in ways we will only understand as time unfolds.
I hope I'm wrong.

@cmkshama So many of you have never understoood the concept of harm reduction…. And embracing incremental progress

Zohran Mamdani has hired Jeffrey Lerner, a former political director of the Democratic National Committee, to serve as his new communications director.
Some on the left are saying that this does not necessarily mean anything bad, and that Mamdani may be trying to beat the Democratic establishment at their own game.
The idea that building links with entrenched Democratic Party officials can somehow work in the interest of workers has been disproved many many times over. Rather than have such illusions, the working people and the labor movement need to break from the Democratic Party and build a new party for the working class. Towards that, we need independent fighting campaigns with candidates who will not only run on concrete demands, but also be clear that their task is to build mass movements and expose the rottenness of both the parties of genocide and the billionaire class, not to make alliances with either of them.
In 2007, Jeffrey Lerner worked as communications director for then-New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo.
Lerner served as political director for the Democratic National Committee during President Barack Obama's 2012 reelection campaign after working as White House Southern political director during the first two years of the Obama administration.
In 2013, Jeffrey Lerner joined the DKC public relations firm, whose corporate clients include BMW, Airbnb, Bloomberg, and Melia Hotels (one of the world’s largest hotel chains).
In 2023 and 2024, Lerner worked as senior advisor to California Democratic Senator Laphonza Butler. Butler is a past president of SEIU California, and close supporter and confidant of Kamala Harris. After SEIU, Butler worked as a high-powered consultant for Uber in 2019 at a time when the company was attempting to defeat the statewide bill to give employee status to Uber drivers — she was part of meetings where Uber was trying to strong-arm the unions. After Uber, Butler then became a director of public policy for Airbnb. Both the Uber and Airbnb jobs gave Butler hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in salary, plus at least $1 million in Airbnb stock.
Lerner’s whole history speaks volumes about which side he’s on - the bosses and the billionaires.
Mamdani should be bringing working-class fighters and socialists into his campaign to build fighting mass movements, not hiring enemies of the working class.
