@needGod_net The only time I ever had anxiety about my salvation was when I was a Pr*t and everyone was judged by their actions as to whether they were "truly" saved or not. Many people I knew prayed the "Sinner's Prayer" repeatedly just in case they weren't sincere enough the first time
English

@needGod_net And that anxiety went away when I started my journey to becoming Orthodox.

@needGod_net Ironic how he uses the EXACT same language as you in your conversations about "anxiety" and "peace" and "assurance"... Surely this is a real person Ryan because you've never been caught lying before

🔸 Saint John the Russian and the Atheist Doctor 🩺 🔸
In the 1960’s, a doctor who was a staunch atheist became ill with cancer of the rectum, one of the most serious cancers of that time. After the diagnosis, the doctor fell into despair, and began to pray for the first time in his life: “O God, I’ve never believed in You. I thought that all belief was nonsense, and that man should believe only in man and science. Now all my philosophy has lost its value. Accept my repentance, and if you think this prayer worthy, heal me in the name of Saint John the Russian.”
As he finished his prayer, someone knocked at the door. A young doctor then entered the room and said to him, “How are you doing, colleague?” The sick doctor hopelessly answered, “What can I say? I am dying.” In a calm voiced, the young doctor responded, “No, you won’t die. I’m taking your illness on myself.” The sick doctor refused to believe what he was hearing, and questioned the young doctor, saying, “I have been practicing for a long time. I know what my disease means. Who are you?”
The young doctor responded, “I’m the one you asked for help”, and then he left the room. The sick doctor followed him out into the hall, but could no longer see him. He asked the staff, but they replied there had been no such young doctor, and suggested that he was hallucinating from the shock of the diagnosis. In a state of shock, the sick doctor was now sure that the young doctor who visited him was in fact Saint John the Russian whom he invoked in his prayer.
He then insisted on another round of tests, and the second exam showed that he was completely healed of his illness. Dozens of specialists were called into behold the miracle shown by the x-rays: the first showing the cancer, and the second completely clear. Many miracles like this one have been attributed to St John the Russian, who continues to be invoked in the prayers of the sick and those suffering from cancer.

@DrSakriKaia @mark_dow We have always been at war with Eastasia
English

@mark_dow Don’t forget to add he’s sunk the entire Iranian Navy at least 5 times
Buried their nuclear sites at least twice
And has decimated their missile site’s completely
At this point, with all this, who actually are we at war with anymore?

Zero women received the Eucharist in the Bible.

There were zero babies baptized in the Bible.
English

@AL_J82 Pr*testantism never once challenged me, nor held me accountable for my actions. OSAS has exactly the opposite effect - if all I must do is say I believe and then go do anything heinous and still be saved then there is no challenge and no accountability.
English

If Orthodoxy really "heals" people, then it wouldn't be so attractive to OrthroBros. It's a place where an adult male can be a kid with minimal consequences.
The reason why they couldn't make it within Protestantism is because we're going to challenge you like men and hold you accountable for your actions, not give you a false sense of security within the sacraments.
English

@parkmanplus326 @Pawn4King @BishopJaxi No, but it does prove that Jesus was being literal - so much so that He doubled down on what He was saying
English

@Pawn4King @BishopJaxi A Greek word doesn't prove transubstantiation.
Nice try.

Jesus: “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.”
Low church Protestants: “No, that’s not what He means!”
Jesus: “Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”
Low church Protestants: “No no, that’s still not what He means!”
Jesus: “For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.”
Low church Protestants: “Trust me bro, He didn’t mean that!”
Jesus: “As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me.”
Low church Protestants: “I swear… He didn’t mean that either!”
Jesus: “This is my body.”
Low church Protestants: “Jesus definitely didn’t mean that!”
Jesus: “This is my blood.”
Low church Protestants: “Jesus please stop! You don’t mean any of this!”
