Morrison is also not a clear writer, and that's okay. Not every writer has to be clear. Many aren't.

Beloved is a difficult book because the subject matter is difficult, and Morrison engaged some quintessential modernist techniques to reinforce that. If something seems a little hard to follow, it is NOT because Morrison isn't a clear writer. Those sentences are all perfect

“Is God Is” is a ferocious, hilarious revenge thriller steeped in Black resilience and the high costs of breaking generational curses without losing oneself. It demands to be seen with an audience. Kara Young, Mallori Johnson, and an against-type Sterling K Brown are phenomenal.
