With all due respect to one of my old favorites Lindy Ruff. How is Dan Muse not the coach of the year? Buffalo was viewed as playoff contender. The Penguins a #1 pick contender. It should be no contest.

I had a chat with Sid yesterday. He told me what pushed him most in recent seasons is the thought of hearing the noise of the Pittsburgh crowd when he, Geno Malkin and Kris Letang take the ice in a playoff game again.
He will get his wish. The Penguins are headed to the playoffs.

What a team. Early in the season I told myself not to fall for them playing well. And now I can't help but be hopeful. Their offense is really good. And I think they have a chance to steal a series or two.

This Penguins team gonna make me genuinely feel something about them for the first time since prior to covering them. I’d completely written off the idea of another postseason dance in the Crosby era but this team can win a series or two. I’ll take whatever comes from here.
