So, after a 4yr medical history both extensive & expensive, our little black cat Socks sadly died this week. Here she is in healthier times, a sweet cat. Her large white fluffy brother seems... entirely unfussed over our sad loss. To quote the 7yo: RIP Socks. You were a good cat.

11 years listening to traffic reports in the UK and I've only just figured out that "a shed load of something on the M1" means "a load that was shed (dropped)", not a bowdlerised version of "a shitload of something" which is obviously what my vulgar Aussie brain always assumed..
