I am super excited to announce that I am back working on databases! I have been watching the evolution of @fauna's #serverless database for a few years, and now is the right time. It's the database many of us wanted #NoSQL to be. It's as if NoSQL and a relational #database had a baby. Thus, why it's called a document-relational database. JSON documents, but with foreign key relationships, joins, and more. It even has a proper query language!!! So far, my favorite feature is one people have wanted for years in NoSQL database. It's not just replication between regions, that's common enough, but strongly consistent ACID transactions across regions!! Then there's the built-in document version history and multi-tenancy. The list goes on the more I learn. To say I am ecstatic is putting it lightly, and if you know me well enough, it takes a lot to get me genuinely excited about something.
