Yes, I have built balobi.info! Balobi Nini is a cost-efficient news aggregator that generates summaries for French news in Congo. Built under strict constraints: a $250 annual hosting budget, no cloud providers, and no OpenAI API. —key components:

Kampala and Kinshasa are strengthening their trade ties—some good news amid regional uncertainty. Starting this month, Air Congo #DRCongo @AirCongoFly will operate the Entebbe–Kinshasa route. Uganda’s exports to the DRC have already surpassed $1 billion, and a direct flight to Kinshasa—a city of 20 million people—opens new opportunities for Ugandan products such as milk, coffee, fish, fruits, vegetables, and bananas.

We just became one of the few fintechs licensed to move money into and out of DRC 🇨🇩 Nomba now holds both a Messenger Financier License AND an Aggregator License from the Central Bank of Congo (BCC). Here's what that means for remittance companies 🧵

Tractor did not make bad farmers good. Similarly vibe coding will not make a bad software engineer a good one. There is still value in knowing your crafts, being passionate and knowing how things works

Deep Learning Indaba
Deep Learning Indaba@DeepIndaba·
We are officially heading to NIGERIA! 🌟 But why Nigeria? Our 2026 General Chairs described Nigeria as a place representing "scale, imagination, and a fearless belief in what is possible." For years, Nigerian builders and researchers have helped shape the Indaba from its earliest days. Now, we are bringing the energy home to channel a new focus: Sovereign Intelligence, the ability for Africa to build, steward, and understand its own systems. As Wole Soyinka famously said, "A tiger does not proclaim its tigritude; it pounces."This year, we pounce. The journey to 2026 has begun! Stay tuned for updates on dates, venue details, and application openings coming soon! #DLI2026 #Indaba2026

@HamelHusain It is funny, i have been working on this for the past sprint and I come on twitter, I find this post... Quick one how do you deal with the fact that LLM(generative one) does not produce the same output after each run?

Verifying a LLM judge involves setting up a classic ML style test against human labels. Shipping an unverified LLM judge is the fastest way for people to lose trust in your evals (and your work in general).

I'm proud & grateful to have just been awarded Honorary Doctorate of Letters at @SheffieldUni I had the honour to address the class of postgrads from the Social Scientists Faculty. Here's my 'FIVE THINGS I KNOW NOW THAT I WISH I'D KNOWN WHEN I LEFT UNI' speech notes 1. It takes four things to be successful - Focus, talent, hardwork & most importantly luck - You can do everything right but it still not work for you. - Failing doesn’t make you a failure, it helps you learn for next time - Success in itself can be stressful, its worth thinking how hard you want to push - If you find success, and it pays, remember the luck part and give back 2. Protect your reputation now for later life. - You’re part of the first truly online generation. Every moment recorded. Every second mapped. - What you do now will likely last in perpetuity. It’ll be used when you apply for jobs, when you write your first article, when you run for office or when you release your first album. -So enjoy yourself, but be circumspect, don’t screw over your future self. 3. If you’re self-employed, a third of what you earn isn’t yours. - On payroll tax is normally taken off so what goes into your bank account is your money. - Yet self employed or freelance you’re normally paid before tax. So for every £100 you earn, put £30ish straight into a separate bank account 4. Don’t be afraid to change path (I did) - You’re about to be born in the world of work, just a toddler. - I hope it goes well, you’re happy and content with your choice - Yet after a couple of years, assess, is it really right for you - If you wake up miserable going to work, don’t feel locked in to unhappiness - Test the waters and be fluid. 5. And finally, BE PROUD - Many knock higher education, or will say these days it isn’t worth it. - Yet be proud, you’ve worked hard to be members of a special club - university postgraduates. . Congratulations. Have a little (frugal) celebration tonight. - Take a step back and count your blessings - Use this privilege to improve you & yours, your society, your community, country & the world if you can! GIVE YOURSELVES A HUGE APPLAUSE

This agentic arms race by C-suite know-nothings feels less like leverage and more like denial. We took a stochastic text generator, noticed it lies confidently, wipes entire databases a, and responded by wrapping it in managers, sub-agents, permissions, workflows,
