Unbelievable. When I was a director of an exchange in 2013, one of the first security policies I set up was: -Once KYC/AML was approved it was printed out. -One copy went to a fireproof filing cabinet at main office with the compliance lead. -One copy went to secure offsite records storage with Iron Mountain. -Digital copies were batched weekly to an airgapped offline server. -All access went through senior compliance team members. Coinbase’s disclosure here focuses on the stolen funds. But that’s irrelevant. They got physical addresses, and government IDs. Things you can’t change, and things that put customers at physical risk. No element of KYC/AML policy requires this kind of stuff to be accessible to your customer support agents. I don’t want to hear about what Coinbase is doing to recover funds - I want to hear what they are doing to better deal with private data. And why a $60B company, had such rubbish data policies when they can easily afford to hire top class talent?

@leo_escobar_ @aave why is it a surprise/impressive that bad debt decreased? isn't that the whole point of the liquidation?
not trying to take away from the accomplishment of the platform - amazing that it withstood that sort of seismic movement.
i will use Aave 😘

Today, @aave experienced over $200 million in liquidations within just 24 hours – the largest event since August 2024.
This represents roughly 30% of all liquidations since Aave’s inception, and even more impressively,
bad debt has actually decreased.
This suggests that our DeFi ecosystem is built on a strong foundation, which includes:
-> Rigorous collateral selection and management through governance
-> Efficient protocol design for liquidations
-> Thick liquidity pools in ecosystem
Moreover, considering that Aave v3.3, v4, and the umbrella updates haven't been implemented yet, the future of DeFi looks exceptionally promising.
I express my gratitude to those who designed and managed this robust infrastructure, including @StaniKulechov, @marczeller, @eboadom, and @omeragoldberg.

@nixorokish What is the current assumption of upload speed?
My nodes - mainnet and holesky - are use less than 5Mbps each today. What’s the drive for 10x that bandwidth?

50 Mbps upload bandwidth as an assumption for participation in Ethereum staking is too high given global average speeds.
25 seems more doable, but it's incongruous to say we can both rely on home stakers to build local blocks but also 'price' them out in terms of bandwidth
imo, 20 or 25 could be considered for both outsourced & locally-built blocks, pending more home staking data reports from @ethPandaOps (sorry Australia, who I think averages closer to 18 Mbps)
And that's only until we have something like FOCIL in place (at which point, we don't need to rely on locally-built blocks for censorship resistance)
