This is honestly one of my favourite things about the Caribbean. I can literally spot Martinique from my dad’s house in Gros Islet (St Lucia)

@EritajGwadloup À mon sens l’exclusivité du français participe à nous enfermer dans un carcan (colonial) perpétuel, bloquant notre pleine intégration régionale (sans tutelle), nos interactions avec le reste du Sud global ou du monde. Briser la tutelle française passe par parler d’autres langues.

Caribbean people are so embarrassing sometimes. Y'all have got to stop with this we're all mixed or mostly mixed with something bs...not tf we aren't. You'll cling on to having a mixed granny. Majority of us are just Black and that's ok. The obsession with being "exotic" is odd

People so shocked and angry with there being so many white Bajans and Indian Trinis….They are the same people who will swear they are not racist. What makes the Caribbean the Caribbean is all of our ethnicities/heritage- influences from Africa, India, Europe - our culture is a reflection of that, from Rasta culture,our Sunday lunches, accents, games such as domino’s our food dishes, elements of music etc the Caribbean is not mono racial and anyone who expects it to be is ignorant. Over 70% of the Caribbean is mixed and we love it.
