i have a friend who wasn’t a big fan of filipino movies before but got really into them after exploring juanflix :) baka gusto niyo i-try para naman magbago yang perspective niyo ☺️

hard agree on the love team thingy, but calling our films “third world level of content” is a stretch and feels unfair and dismissive when there are actually a lot of strong and competitive local films that just don’t get as much mainstream attention. you just dont watch enough.

Gets ko naman why people want an end to loveteam culture pero sana alam natin how much of our entertainment industry is us taking Hollywood's studio system and shaping it ourselves. Also, sana nanonood po tayo ng full movies and short films na uploaded on YouTube or available via Netflix, iWant, and/or JuanFlix kasi ang dami nating magagaling na filmmakers at storytellers at hindi siya recent phenomenon. I also hope you're going to the movies when good Filipino films like Sunshine, the Bayani Cinematic Universe, and The Loved One are out. Sa UP Film Center ang daming magagandang pelikula na pinapalabas, maganda pa ticket prices. Binababa na rin ang ticket prices because it makes things more accessible, sana sinusuportahan yun para makita ng tao na may appetite for different stories. Just as no one should judge national cuisines by their most popular fast food chains, I don't think people should be judging our entertainment industry if ang alam niyo lang yung lumalabas sa feed niyo (na kayo rin naman ang nag-cucurate, by the way) and you don't have enough curiosity to check out what's out there before making hasty generalizations. Same goes for theater, music, and other forms of art.
