404 identies generations are so unique and beautiful i decided to try out @itsdizcorvus p5.js generative codes but this time i used his example prompt and greatly refine it to my own taste this depiction here in the video below is a type of blackhole but generated with mathematics as that's what @404_identities art is all about, motion pushed with code this is my entry for the generative pixelated 404 art event

That feeling inspired the video I created for Pattern Retrieval @adamilenich At first glance, it's just a simple story, a user trying to unlock a device. One failed attempt. Then another. A warning appears. The final attempt fails and access is denied. But that's where the real story begins. Pattern Retrieval explores a fascinating idea.Memory isn't just something we store,it’s something we reconstruct. Inspired by Hopfield networks, every artwork begins as a known pattern that is deliberately corrupted and buried beneath noise. Instead of copying the original, the network works its way back through the chaos, gradually recovering what was once there. Memory is not preserved perfectly,it is retrieved. That's exactly what I wanted the video to represent. When the system tells me to "Retrieve Your Pattern," it's more than a login screen. It's a visual metaphor for the artwork itself. A pattern lost to noise. A memory hidden beneath entropy. A process of recall rather than recognition. The failed attempts mirror corruption. The lockout represents forgetting. The retrieval process represents the network searching for what it once knew. And the final successful unlock represents convergenceth,e moment the pattern settles back into place. What makes Pattern Retrieval so compelling is that it transforms something as ordinary as a character, symbol, or pattern into a living demonstration of memory under pressure. Every specimen is lost, recovered, and lost again in an endless cycle, reminding us that remembering is an active process. The memory isn't stored. It's retrieved. Just like the pattern.
