Oracle is in the middle of massive layoffs right now, thousands of Americans getting the “today is your last day” email.
At the exact same time, federal data shows the company filed thousands of H1-B visa applications.
While they’re cutting U.S. workers, they’re aggressively bringing in foreign talent and claiming these roles can’t be filled by Americans.
The classic line keeps getting repeated: “Not a single American could do these jobs.”
Yet somehow the Americans they just fired were doing them yesterday.
The company gets taxpayer-backed incentives, government contracts, and subsidies to “create American jobs” — then turns around and ships the work overseas or hands it to visa workers.
If you’re still at Oracle thinking your role is safe because you’re “critical” or “senior”…
wake the fuck up.
They’ll tell you no American can do what you do right up until the day they hand your projects to someone on an H-1B at half the salary.
The replacement machine is already running at full throttle, and you’ve been made redundant by an Indian who gets paid 1/3rd of your salary.

Lmao the world must be such a confusing place to these people. They have no idea what’s going on anywhere. They had access to special information lmao. Did that information come from God or what? Like what are you even talking about
Asian Dawn@AsianDawn4
🚗Whites and Asians have certain forms of "information." That's why there are no black-owned car companies because they were "locked out of that information" 😂😭😭

CS professor at a flagship state university just saw placement numbers that would make your fucking stomach turn
Spring 2026: 387 computer science graduates from his program
34 job offers. Total.
That's 8.8% placement from a school that used to hit 96% by graduation ceremony
Faculty meeting last Tuesday was a bloodbath of cognitive dissonance
Department head still pushing the "skills gap" narrative while reading internal emails from hiring partners
"Reduced headcount needs due to productivity improvements from AI-assisted development"
Translation: Cursor replaced your students
Professor keeps telling his algorithms class that "strong fundamentals never go out of style"
Meanwhile he's getting LinkedIn messages from 2023 grads asking if they can audit courses because their startup jobs evaporated
The brutal fucking irony: his advanced AI course has a 400-person waitlist
Students think learning prompt engineering will save them
They have no idea the companies teaching "AI collaboration" are using those skills to eliminate positions, not create them
Career services is scheduling "networking events" while employers ghost their booth requests
The placement statistics they publish? Still show 2024 numbers because 2025-2026 data would cause a panic
This professor has tenure so he can't get fired
His students have $140K in debt and no industry left to enter
The department just approved funding for a new "Human-AI Interaction" graduate program
Nobody wants to admit they're training students for jobs that won't exist by the time they graduate

@AdrianNF8173 @Empty_America It is not difficult at all. The field is saturated, and economic uncertainty doesnt help.
English

@Empty_America I don't know boss. I've met one person that had a CS degree from MIT and experienced long term unemployment and there were social constraints there that would have made self employment also very hard. Very difficult to go to Stanford for CS and find nothing. More to the story.

Being an obligate wagie seems safe, but it's very risky indeed.
Assuming this situation is real, the dude is sitting on immense human talent, trained on his dime, and doesn't even have the *idea* that he could directly put these kids to any gainful use!

It's hard out there

@rockmom @DennyZ25153949 @WaterwornPebble Great advice: get an art degree and mysteriously find yourself a wealth management position.
English

@DennyZ25153949 @WaterwornPebble My Gen Z kid got an art degree right before Covid. Worked crappy part time jobs & is now an admin for a large wealth management firm, doing great & learning the WM business. Never moved in with us or even asked us for a dime. Her BF doesn't even have a degree & has a great job!

@itsalex1221 @College88358391 @ruanpabloastro @TarjeiJS Carlsen has the most dedicated dickriders, thank you for your service 🫡
English

@float_party @College88358391 @ruanpabloastro @TarjeiJS You’re still behaving like a loser who cares who sees it
English

Carlsen telling TV 2: "It's sunny outside, and it's fucking one million degrees in the playing hall. I didn't feel like having enough oxygen getting to my head at all. I am insanely lucky I didn't lose. At one point, I considered resigning just because I was so damn fed up."
chess24@chess24com
Keymer vs. Carlsen ends in a thrilling draw — Vincent was better for most of the game, but Magnus missed a one-move chance to win near the end! chess.com/events/2026-gr… #GrenkeChess
English

@JGB3921 @james_ebo One for each turnover in one single play.
English

@float_party @ruanpabloastro @TarjeiJS The events that Magnus plays are quite literally some of the hardest classical events on the calendar 😂 Norway Chess last year was the hardest classical event of the entire year and Magnus won it. Again, you incels just say anything not based on actual reality
English

@College88358391 @ruanpabloastro @TarjeiJS You’re still talking a very small sample size. As Hikaru demonstrates, it’s hard to stay in 2800 form if you don’t play real games in that format.
English

@float_party @ruanpabloastro @TarjeiJS Doesn’t matter, Magnus’s classical situation is not Hikaru’s. Magnus still wins pretty much every classical event he plays
English

@ruanpabloastro @TarjeiJS “Admit the decline” yet is the reigning
Speed chess champion
World rapid champion
World blitz champion
Freestyle champion
Highest rated classical player
You incels just say anything, try having an original thought
English

@ruanpabloastro @TarjeiJS They weren't playing outside genius. It's hard for some people to understand that what's like to use your brain when you don't feel well I guess

The New York Times’ @mirjordan informs us that physician is now a job Americans “won’t do,” hence the need to import doctors from third world countries. Missing from the article is the role of the American Medical Association in constraining residency slots—and the many U.S.-trained graduates who never match.
