It's a GRA12 world and we're just living in it! We performed CRISPR screens to identify conserved virulence factors across Toxoplasma clonal and atypical strains and the top hit is a͟l͟w͟a͟y͟s GRA12! and, for the first time, in all mouse subspecies!thread👇biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Very happy this work is finally out! ☺️ We found some very interesting things about Crypto (the parasite), intraepithelial lymphocytes (first-line gut defenders) and maybe even a potential treatment for this problematic pathogen. Read the article or my linked tweetorial for more!
