We tested something ridiculously simple inside the cart.
Result: insane performance.
A FOMO timer showing a dynamic number of people “currently checking out”
a small pulsing effect next to it.
That’s it.
But here’s why it works:
It creates instant social pressure
It shows that others are buying right now
It adds urgency without being aggressive
And one detail makes all the difference:
The number needs to constantly change.
Ideally… decrease.
Because your brain reads it as an opportunity disappearing.
If you build it wrong, it does nothing.
If you build it right, it naturally pushes users to checkout.
