@hexmode Wha? Gov not being in the business of determining truth and censoring ideas is req’d by law. Gov not doing same by outsourcing to the private sector, also req’d. Anyone leaving just as @elonmusk takes over, is kind of a loser. Remains to be seen, the future of this site.

@jlerner @elonmusk I have had a platform that no one used, but I was asking a hypothetical to understand how you thought pre-Elon Twitter was suppressing free speech.

@hexmode @elonmusk Free speech obviously does not mean that. In the absence of more sophisticated tools (coming soon?), just mute by offending user or keyword. Re your other point, are you a publisher or a platform? Are the posting rules clear and enforced without regard to tribe?

@jlerner @elonmusk Does free speech mean I have to listen to what anyone wants to say? If no, then, if I own a website anyone can post to while still maintaining a right to my property (the website), is it a violation of free speech if I take down, say, someone's cookie recipe?

@hexmode E.g. in this case "free speech must be restricted to prevent injustice". Progressives today simply no longer hold free speech as a core value. @elonmusk = bad because he will allow the "bad" ideas to spread.

I'm curious if any college CS courses require running services (outside messing around in a lab) nowadays? Debugging intuition comes from experience & is built up from years & years of seeing systems fail in different ways. Big O isn't going to save you when prod is down.

This guy wants to be the next governor of my state and he is within spitting distance of a win.
