@hourunclock i mean even if he thought this, there was probably some interference involved to get him in the position since being best friends with your watchful eye would still be a major conflict of interest

i think what kinda bothers me about the "will [x] character go brim" theories i see is they should probably be worded more as "will this character use forbidden magic" instead. the brimhats are a specific group with a specific ideology.
