Would be great if our Ministers and Deputy Ministers would set an example of not using fuel guzzling vehicles like their Vellfires (why do you hve this anyway?), not using police outriders, & ensuring their drivers switch off the engine while parked.

@r00dran Lastly, no matter what people around him told him, he drove on his own volition.
He did that probably because he’d done it many times, just that this time it cost a father to lose his life.
Had enforcement been better maybe he wouldn’t have been so brave.

@r00dran I’m not denying that there are many issues within the Indian community, but there are also systemic issues.

"We" failed because for years and years, when the problems of the indian community were called out, words like racism gets thrown, indians who speak out get treated like pariahs (heh).
We failed because we make jokes about meleis, kelantan, and now it is reversing.

How did you fail Malaysia? Did you ask him to drive under influence? Did you give him drugs? This is not the fault of the community, as he doesn’t represent our community in part or as a whole. It’s sad that a life was lost nonetheless but what are you apologising for?

@r00dran I’m just curious why is she apologising on behalf of the Indian community.
The issues within the community are a result of decades of marginalisation.
But the issue of road safety boils down to the behaviour of road users and lax enforcement.
So why the racial tone?

We failed because most of you machas and machis personally have driven drunk, or let someone else do so.
Its funny, you see people generalizing men or women about some things, but this doesnt apply? Be honest with yourselves.

@IDs_XX Drugs are illegal so not really part of the conversation.
Alcohol is legal and if you’re serious on clamping down, we can start with enforcing that 9pm rule and contraband alcohol that is cheap and too accessible.
Two birds one stone again - More duties and better controls.

It is a “we problem”.
Enforcement is bad cause we enable it by paying bribes, owing favours or doing anything to avoid fines/punishments.
Thus, people think with money they can get away with anything and laws no longer apply to them.
That’s why Malaysia is called Bolehland.

Under 2026 budget RM 3b is:
- 50% of MARA 2026 budget
- 1.25x funding for FELDA, RISDA, FELCRA
- 3x funding for enforcement work & JENDELA
- 4x funding for boosting tourism
- 12x funding to UDA for wakaf land dev

@IDs_XX More stats to show you that most of our road deaths are caused by the behaviour of road users.
Behaviour on roads can be better with better drivers ed (no more lesen kopi) and enforcement.
Better enforcement is killing all birds with one stone.

@IDs_XX RM 3b supports a significant portion of our public transport system or 1 month of petrol subsidy.
It’s a lot money and unless there’s an idea to replace that, let’s talk real solutions.
It seems like you’re a mission to ban alcohol rather than making roads safer.
