Siena is apparently gonna go the whole way without subbing. Are they going to have the legs to finish off the mega upset?

We were talking about it live on @FrontOfficeShow when the game started, but Gavin Doty has been outstanding for Siena this year. 16 points at the half with Siena up 11 on Duke at the half. If the Siena-Duke game is close down the stretch, we'll try to get back on live if we can!

That layup from Chase Johnston of High Point to potentially upset Wisconsin was the first two-point shot he's made all season long! Previous to that his 68 made baskets were all three-pointers.

@Kokopelli767 I think what will trip this up is the season-ending component. Unless his season is truly over, no one will agree that he's likely to be out through May 31. That would be most of the playoffs.

@KeithSmithNBA I heard of it before and found it in the 2023 CBA, it's page 433 of the book, not the PDF.

Gutted for Cade Cunningham and the Pistons. He and the team are having such a special season. Hopefully his recovery goes well and he's back on the quicker end of the timeline. Timeline to return is all over the place, based off a quick internet search.

@KeithSmithNBA Sorry for being unclear, I was talking about the specific rule that if a player played 62 games and then had a season-ending injury, he still qualifies. I didnt realize until today that season ending means more than just missing the rest of the regular season

@CallMeMiguel @SaltyMagic91 We'll see. They have a bunch of guys on team options, and they'll probably bring their salaries down some. I don't think it's going to get them in the way that people think it will.

@SaltyMagic91 Unfortunately, I think I remember hearing, was it from @KeithSmithNBA? that Sam Presti was very shrewd and managed to build his roster to avoid the apron.

@Kokopelli767 I don't understand what you wrote. But you have to get to 65 games (and only two of those games can the player have played fewer than 20 minutes).

@KeithSmithNBA I never realized this until I just checked. The idea that a player can qualify for awards with only 62+ games if they are then injured is only for injuries that are unlikely to return before May 31st, not just missing the rest of the regular season, if I understand correctly.
