because, in an instant, all funding for VR/AR dried up after gpt-3 was released.
i was working on visual gps. the idea was similar to niantic's (which they were already behind).
build a map of the world with crowdsourced imagery collected from meta products. use visual imagery to determine your location.
the idea was that everyone would be wearing AR glasses by 2028-2030, and that the data collected from that could be used to build a map that works independent of gps, based on "computer vision" science.
