AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH is now tracking to overperform on its second domestic weekend, making $55M-$65M, only -30% drop, a much stronger hold than ‘The Way of Water’, which sunk -52% in its sophomore outing. This suggests that although ‘Fire and Ash’ made $45M less than ‘The Way of Water’ opening, it may eventually have much stronger legs. Every time I see discourse about CSM season 1 I feel like I’m living in bizzaro universe. Genuine masterpiece of animation with incredible music that captures the film inspirations of all of Fujimoto’s works and and everyone acts like it killed their dog or something
