Food prices likely to rise due to Iran war, farmers' union says . . . of course it does , as it’s nitrogen pumping , pesticide dumping paymasters profit from fossil fuel dependency to drive the industrial agriculture which is killing our home . . . bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Kemi Badenoch complains to Keir Starmer that farmers are hit by the increasse in fuel tax. As far as I know farming enterprises use red diesel on which there is no tax. And this woman wants to be prime minister!!! #pmqs

@RolandsDelectus Red diesel was 58p/l 6 weeks ago. Today its £1.20/l. A combine harvester that harvests the wheat thats in your bread will use at least 1,000l per day. Harvest generally lasts 6 weeks. Do the maths.

@VictoriaAtkins No prices available to book in advance so they take your order today, say 5,000 litres and its delivered in 7 days times. You pay the price on the day in 7 days time even though they have it in stock. 2 months ago it was 58p/litre. Today its £1.15/litre. Welcome to rip off uk

📢 RED DIESEL PRICES GOING UP FARMERS - please comment below with your experiences of red diesel prices going up in the last week? We’re putting pressure on the govt on heating oil and I want to raise red diesel too but I need your evidence.

This is a blatant lie. In July 2024, the energy cap was £1,568. It's now £1,641. Bills have gone up under this Prime Minister. The £117 he talks about has just been moved from your energy bill to your tax bill. And yet he claims he’s saving us money. It’s outrageous.
UK Prime Minister@10DowningStreet

Today the energy price cap has dropped by £117. We said we’d bring energy bills down - we meant it.

@agricontract @EmmaforWycombe Shes deluded and has no idea about the job she is doing. It needs to be full relief for working farms that are providing food. Simple as that because the alternative is dangerous imported food grown with chemicals banned in this country years ago.

Dear @KemiBadenoch, apologies for gate crashing your @GMB interview today. Student loans are so life-impacting that I wanted to ensure the key point was made - that financially, if not psychologically, the repayment threshold is a bigger issue than the interest, (as I explain here: x.com/MartinSLewis/s…) Thank you for being so courteous after the interruption - you handled it far better than I would have the other way round. I have asked my office to request a meeting, if you are available, to discuss this more calmly.

Ed Miliband’s lack of basic understanding of energy taxation and economics was on full display here. And these numpties are in the government. It’s hardly a surprise that the country is in a total mess.

@ghost_wales We’ve taken out 2 ASHP’s because they use electricity 24 hrs/day 365 days/yr. At the peak prices the elec was £9k/yr on a 3 bed fully insulated new barn conversion. Switched it to kero and normal boiler. Uses no more than 2500l/yr @ 50p/l.

Rebuilding Britain takes time. But thanks to the decisions we've made NHS waiting lists are falling. Inflation is falling. Interest rates are falling. The conditions for the economy to grow are there. With Keir as our Prime Minister we are turning the country around.

@DanPBrown Just completed 4000 miles. I’m mostly short journeys though so put it on charge at least once during the day. See pic of my average from day 1. Roughly 2/3 elec 1/3 petrol. On pure petrol it’ll do 28mpg which is slighlty better than the 3.0 v6 it replaced.

Got this on demo. Plug in hybrid, pulls well, 280hp, massive screens, can run a 9 inch grinder off the plug socket. Not sure about the roller shutter top, would need a canopy.
